Miked2006 had just returned from a nightmarish trip to Qatar, and was pleased to return to his small, isolated, British village.

It was still dark and the Christmas lights flickered, giving the local bakery, pub and the extensive cemetery a flickering glow, despite the moon being hidden by dark clouds.

He reached his drive and suddenly slammed on his brakes. A large, darkish figure seemed to scurry by the side of his house. He blinked heavily and it was gone. "Must be a cat", he told himself confidently, although his breathing increased.

He quickly dragged his suitcase into his house and locked the door. It was colder inside than he expected, so immediately went to start a fire. He caught a look at himself in the fireplace mirror and he was shocked at how tired he looked.

His trembling hands finally got the fire started. But he knew almost immediately that something wasn't right. Despite being in the warm glow of the fire, he could see hot clouds of breath rising behind him in the mirror. He froze. He could smell the putrid, coppery breath now.

"We're back" whispered the wolf, above the crackling of the fire. "Time to play".

The next day the village awoke to screams. Burnsy and Skyla were the first on the scene. Miked2006 upper torso lay outside the bakery door, his white face still etched with fear. Above him, written in his own blood, were two chilling words.

    "Who's next?"

The village will close at 7, but hopefully sooner if everyone votes by then.

I'll post timestamps of messages and post them in order received, in case I'm in meetings.

If you'd like to have a job in the village, mention it below and I'll try to include it in write ups.

There's a lot going on at work for me this week so I'll be on when I can/when I remember.

So far I'm suspicious of Cthulhu

I still don't understand how he got voted off on a day when two were messaged as evil in the recent game I ran.

Oooh that's interesting. Can I be the village florist? :) I am pretty sure they existed back then.

We are such an unloyal bunch of England fans to have only bothered to go to Qatar for the group games. All that walking in the desert aswell!

    Good Morning
I am in meetings most of today and tomorrow, so will be fairly inactive. I'll get to read in-between
As @wfcmoog has suggested, being busy at work makes Cthulhu a suspect

    Good Morning fellow Christmas Villagers,

On the first day of Christmas Werewolf my viewing gave to me, Steve harrow is GOOD.
(i do hope this goes on for more than a few days!).

Seer's aside: Nice early message. Stick to the facts and we'll win. Let's keep it simple.

Festive greetings fellow villagers! Your Christmas Seer here.

Time for us to take revenge for poor Miked2006. Decided to get an early viewing in to help the first day along and have looked at Happy Hornet24. I can confirm that they are GOOD.

Each day I will run through my previous viewings and rationale to help Team Good, for weak and for strong.

    MA.

As usual day one messages don't tell us much.

In the first message a bible verse is referenced but the other two bits are indecipherable at this time.

    I’m confused

this is my first post. I haven’t said I’m busy at work.

WAS and Moog have both said they are busy at work and somehow I’m the suspect, odd

Interesting to get two messages in quick succession. I have made a flower reef for Mike - white lilys. Myself and Moog will place it next to Mike's door this afternoon. Any villagers who wish to join us in prayers for our much loved fellow villager can do so. Butter beer and scones also available.

    Roughly translated:

"Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?"

True, and without any hard evidence to back it up... pointing fingers so early at suspects could mean they are covering up for themselves perhaps? One aspect we should all keep an eye on.

  18. Morning all. Wow 2 early messages already!

On a work conf call, trying to keep on track with the cricket score now 2 early messages. So unfair!

Unless you're whooshing me, it's just moog being moog and having a laugh.

Standard first day, two messages naming people as good and a wait to see who's forgotten to play!

Moog was just messing and then WAS has tried to go along with the joke but misread Moog's post so I wouldn't worry about it!

Morning all. Not much to go on with the messages. The first message has more obvious clues/codes, which ordinarily I would see as more of a 'good' play. However, an experienced or clever seer should only need one code. As is usually the case on day 1, inactivity will probably lead to lynching, unless someone massively misplays.

    Our inactives so far:

    HappyHornet24
    Optimistichornet
    steve harrow

Part of me would love them all to comment today as lynching an inactive, despite probably being the most sensible thing to do, always feels a bit easy.

Agreed, it's a cop out. People have busy lives and every game a couple forget, hence why I tagged someone last game to prompt them. But then of course people read stuff into that and had to spend the rest of the game defending myself from accusations...

Just to add to this it doesn't help that the "tagging" system has been hit and miss for a lot of users. I sometimes get the "<user> mentioned you" alert, sometimes I don't.

Yeah it's crap! I've missed a fair few notifications over the years, mainly ones telling me there's a new werewolf game.

I hate first days, they're dull.

Anyone else got any theories on the messages?

Given we know the roles this time and there are no nasty surprises, one of the two named players must be confirmed good, right?

The code in message 1 looks pretty complicated at first glance. That and the early posting makes me lean slightly towards that as the Seer at the moment.

I've always wondered what speaking in tongues meant. After googling it now I have to admit to being totally underwhelmed.
