On the flip side, Wolves did have the benefit of somebody actually wanting to buy Gibbs-White

Surprised they haven’t offered money to buy Sarr or Pedro !

TBF it’s 25 million up top with a potential 17 million in add ons.

I’m not sure on the exact details, but essentially they have three years until it catches up with them. If they splurge big now, survive, then just add the odd player next season and the season after then they’ll probably be fine. If they do this every season (Everton) it will catch up with them in three years time. The reality is if you’re going to go for it, the first year is the one to do it, then you should only need to complement what you have in years 2 and 3.

It's a huge gamble though and if they go down that financial bump is going to hurt big time. I wonder how many of these were targets for other clubs and Forest just simply overpaid to get them? It's a crazy strategy straight out of FM.

If it’s all owner funded, and owner stays interested then less risk though, (aside from any rules they may be in danger of breaching).

Also wonder how many of these players have relegation clauses in their contracts. I think that's the key.

Aside from wages, the biggest risk for Forest if they go down is they've signed a lot of players of a calibre that simply won't agree to play Championship football. There won't be 2 or 3 sold to balance, it'll be a mass exodus at reduced prices and probably a fair few out on loan.

If the gamble pays off that’s likely another seat at the PL table sewn up for good.

If you're worried about our owner than just be happy that we don't have Forests owner.
And that say crime doesn't pay

How certain is it that Dennis starts for them ?

Not sure if he’d take too kindly to not getting many games.

Whereas with us he was always in the team .

How long will the gamble last? If they just about stay up this season, surely they can't spend big again next season?

I guess if you get yourself up to survival standard then in theory it’s just maintenance of the squad after that. The biggest expense will surly be bridging the gap between Championship and PL, but if they manage that then surely they won’t need to keep spending as much as they have.

Liability Collins at fault for Wolves for Kane's winner. Such an odd signing.

Soooo, we're currently joined in the top 6 by a Sheffield United team who could barely lay a glove on us on the opening day but who have done well on and off the pitch since, relegation favourites Reading, Blackburn who are already coming back down to earth with a bump, promoted Sunderland and Hull (see Blackburn), meanwhile Norwich look to be getting into their stride after a sticky start, Burnley still don't look overly convincing and Boro are down near the bottom...it's shaping up to be an unpredictable league

Fancy Sheff U to go up.

WBA found their scoring touch .

    Maybe we will then ..

Certainly no Fulham type team this season .

Should be said for balance that probably half the reason why they couldn't lay a glove on us was because we had a genuinely frightening front 3 which was never going to last the season, in addition to them lacking Ahmedhodzic! They had a good second half to last season, they'll be up there for sure, but if we stick our finger out and get some good players in, we don't have anything to be scared about

So many people reckon Sheffield United will win the League, I genuinely don't see why.

I think it's way to soon to call the league. Look at last time we were in this division. Reading, Blackburn and even Bristol City had very good starts but only Reading really challenged the playoffs till the end. We never got going till Deeney was injured which forced is to change to a (much better) 4 3 3 system. We won most of our games after that, not to mention Norwich lost their opening three games and won the division by a margin. If we can be there or there abouts come the next Transfer Window, it will make a big impact on who stays, goes or comes in.

Burnley bottle a 2 goal lead against Blackpool and their stand out player Maatsen is banned for 3 games. Good stuff

At the moment we are on track for auto promotion with 92 points, and goals totals of: For = 36 Against = 18.

    Fake news. 9/5 x 46 = 82.8.

Would only have got us third last season.

I was using a different method.

Win all our home games = 69 points, draw all our away games = 23 points. 69 + 23 = 92 points. This would have made us champions last season.

  35. a19tgg

There is no way in hell we’ll win all of our home games and draw all our away games though.
