Do Boro have a player named Apron?
He seems to be pulling the strings as he's scored.

Looks like Blackburn are going into the sort of form they were in last time we got promoted. Started really well then faded away. Good result between Sheff Utd and Boro'

Blackburn win 3 from 3 yet at home vs WBA they had 41% possession and were outdone 2-1 on total shots & those on target, scoring from both of their on-target efforts.
I'm sure their fans' forum is full of posts about how 5h1te and lucky they were today.

If WBA can get hold of a goalscorer ( Armstrong maybe) they could be the team to beat.

Well I didn’t watch the game so I couldn’t possibly draw an opinion based on the stats, so wouldn’t have a clue if their fans would be right or wrong whichever view they held. Obviously if like some you base everything on the stats and not the 95+ minutes played out on the pitch, then the latter won’t matter to you.

Strange start from Boro, the consensus seemed to be that they needed firepower, yet that's not really been their issue in their first three games. Tough start for them mind you, a loss at QPR is disappointing for them, but they'd probably have taken 2 points from 2 games against WBA and Sheffield United

I’m sure they will be just delighted to be up there given they didn’t expect to be.
Great result for us as it’s highly likely based on that game and midweek that WBA will be the bigger threat come the end of the season.
Almost perfect set of results for us this weekend with defeats for WBA, Norwich, Burnley and Luton.

Didn’t watch the game, but if they were lucky I imagine they will have a similar number of results orientated posters as we do.

What do we make of Blackburn this season? They were nice to look at 2 seasons ago, if very naive (I remember a time where many of us were worried they would overtake us for a play-off spot!), and challenged for promotion for much of last season before fading badly, lost a few players but kept Brereton-Diaz, a new manager, could they challenge?

I think they are very good outside bets for the playoffs. They have a good squad who work hard and have already bagged a fair few goals this season. Like you said, they tend to drop off when the real heat is on for points in vital games. As such, I cannot see them doing a "Norwich". But I do think they have started very well and will surprise a few this season.

Their start reminds me of Reading two seasons ago. Their results are much better than the statistics from their performances would suggest. I read that West Bromwich Albion dominated the game, but Blackburn scored two brilliant goals. Two seasons ago Reading maintained their good start and were top of the league for quite a time, but then fell away as the quality of their performances plus injuries caught up with them. I have read that Blackburn also lack depth in their squad so I agree they may drop off, but that they could surprise a few this season..

And there I was making a somewhat wry comment on how other teams also seemed to be winning whilst apparently not playing that well, and you react like I've poked you in the eye with a stick. Blackburn allowed WBA 13 shots of which 4 were on target, very similar to us vs Burnley. Whilst I agree that our 3 performances thus far have been anything but dominant, I just feel the hangover of the last 2 relegations is causing some to have an overly-jaundiced view.

How we perform tomorrow is very important. Turn up assuming we'll cruise it & we're in for a nasty wake-up call. Put a proper shift in and we should have more than enough to beat them.

I was trying to make a point that perhaps the last 3 seasons have made some on here a little over-jaundiced.

Does seem that way. With good reason though as 2 of the last 3 seasons have been unmitigated disasters.

Ultimately though we're no longer in the Prem, and under par performances will still yield wins, as most strikers in this league are *****.

20/21 I found to be deeply unsatisfying as we seemingly spent 3/4 of the season playing poorly, and yet we were easily promoted

So did you prefer 19/20 and 21/22 ?
We can win more than we lose in the second best English league, or win about half a dozen over an entire season in the prem.

Obviously 20/21 was more entertaining, but after years in the Prem I struggle to take much satisfaction from taking Rotherham to pieces.

My point was about 20/21 was that we spent most the season below par, and yet still managed to be comfortably promoted. This division doesn't punish you for having WTE as a centre half

A 'substantial windfall' of a couple of million from Estupiñan's sell on clause as opposed to the club's oh so slightly more substantial debt of .....cough......over £100 million. More smoke and mirrors from Scot's stooges. Are they on the payroll or what?

I'm not disputing that the quality is lower in the champ.
My point is that our quality isn't going to vary tremendously between champ and prem, so you have the choice of winning more games in an easier (yet excellent entertaining league) or losing most games with a slightly better quality squad in the best quality league in Europe.
This season is going to be far more interesting, whatever happens.
It must have been as boring as **** to be a CP fan over the last 10 years or so.

Maybe I've become a snob but a win in the Prem is incomparable to a win in the Championship, even against a promotion rival.

Of course, partly because they are so rare. Wins vs Everton and Man U last season were great. But I’d prefer 20 or so wins and uncertainty about where we will finish to half a dozen great wins and a season where we are targeting 4th bottom.

Nice have bid for Brereton-Diaz at Blackburn. You'd have to think it would weaken them quite a bit if he went.

Was beginning to think this season mirroring 2 seasons ago under Ivic with a solid if not spectacular opening day home win, a pretty chaotic away draw, and an important morale-boosting win, though we did at least outdo our drab loss at Reading by earning a point at Brum

Depends if you like holes. How many holes are there in Nice, France? Not many, I would think, because it doesn't scan.
