Championship - 2022/23

Watching the Sunderland QPR game. QPR look all over the place, but they have had chances. Sunderland are a very united team which makes up for their lack of quality. They press very well and you can see they are all together.
However defensively they are rubbish, they will definitely give every team chances to score. If QPR had their finishing boots on it could easily be 2-2.

 

Imagine the meltdown on here if we had Norwich's start to the season

 

He'll be pushing for a move now you would think given their start.
Wasn't he linked to Bayern last season?

 

Looks from the Norwich forum they’re already thoroughly miserable, a lot want Farke back and there’s no love for Smith at all.

 

Forest have bought anyone for at least five minutes although I see they're going for Kouyate.
I didn't know he'd left Palace.

 

Aarons is dreaming if he thinks anyone of Bayern's calibre will be giving him a second look. Been bang average for a long time now. Even outshone by Kiko in the Championship

Great header from the QPhahaha keeper to level it and an even better save at the end to keep it 2-2!!

 

What a game! Thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Sunderland cruising 2-0 until the 88th min. Chair puts one in the top corner from a FK then Dieng their goalkeeper headers in a brilliant header in the 92nd.

Can’t stand all the hype around Sunderland, so love that they threw this away.

 

Sh*t Town lost at home to PNE as well.

Love it.

 

Preston are a very under appreciated team. No-one is really giving them any chance, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they made the play-offs. Actually not looking forward to playing them next weekend. Think they will give us a really difficult game.

 

What’s their main strength / style?

 

Sickener. I predicted 2-1.

 

He was obviously following the conversation on here the other day about goalkeepers scoring.

 

Pffft, light work.

 

Norwich proving to be the team that some of our fans thought we were before the season started.

 

Bit too early to be writing them off, but I think they shape their squad around flair players and keep ball. Great when you're doing well but horrendous when you're not.

 

Similar to Sunderland, but better quality. Ryan Lowe has them playing tight and compact. Hard to break down. With Whiteman and Ledson and Browne in the middle, you have three tenacious CM’s that don’t stop running. Riis who hasn’t scored yet this season, but was a handful last season. Just think they are underrated.

edit: when I say similar to Sunderland I mean in terms of unity and fighting for each other.

 

Let’s not kid ourselves how lucky we have been. Both Norwich and ourselves faced teams who had 4 on target shots this weekend. We had one shot on target and won. Norwich had 12 on target attempts and lost. You’d get good odds for that.

 

Joint top on points and goal difference but Hull are above us by virtue of being slightly further North.

 

Nobody is kidding themselves. Not seen anyone say we've been much more than lucky.

Ground out results though, while they're floundering under a manager the fans seemingly hate

They also have a player,like many ( including Dortmund) who looks not quite entirely unlike Haaland!
It was the chap who scored I think in their case. Marco Van Basten-Potts-Haaland.

 

I think how much the city smells of fish also comes in as a decider, ceteris paribus.

 

“Slightly further north”?! It’s virtually Arctic Circle isn’t it? All I know is it’s Grim North rather than Posh North.

 

We have plenty of fans who think we deserved to beat Burnley.
