I like big Mick. Loved it when Sannino squared up to him on the touch line at Portman road and Mick just laughed

All Blackburn, switch off, first Huddersfield attack, goal. Sound familiar?

Joe Hungbo impacting the Huddersfield/Blackburn game. Surely one we should keep for next season.

  5. 2-0.

    Huddersfield 18% possession.

    Edit. 14%

Blackburn have been about as consistent as a traffic light all season. Huddersfield have hit from at the right time (we no doubt aided that last Friday). I can see them staying up and probably dragging QPR or Reading down.

Huddersfield should still stay up, QPR and Reading don't look like picking up any points any time soon

Lol, Millwall lost, of course they ******* did, not that I think we have a hope of getting top 6 now, but yet another opportunity missed to close the gap

Luton will win the play offs if they don’t get 2nd.

And hope that Burnley have been out in the flesh pots of Lancashire since whenever they gained promotion.

    November wasn't it?

Doesn't matter because next season will be a disaster for them either way when Edwards is in charge of their pre-season

We could genuinely quite easily finish 16th, maybe even 17th.

    Hilarious stuff.

Losing 2-0 leads seems to be all the rage today. Bristol City at it now.

Does anyone know of a site where you can find records of points dropped when winning and points gained when losing? Football365 used to have one.

We must be up there in the first respect with 18 points dropped from winning positions, and apart from Boro at home I don’t recall us winning many points when losing.

Sheffield United down to 10 men so might be a good day for...them.

Could Burnley set a 2nd tier points record?

Will need to win six on the trot but all their fixtures are winnable and while Blackburn away is the hardest, it’s a derby and they’re inconsistent.

Just been comparing it to the 2013/14 season - nowhere near as bad as back then, when we dropped a colossal 28 points from winning positions, not to mention all those 90+ minute goals we conceded.

Still, even though we look likely to finish with more points even with this team, I think most would take that season over this one, whatever the context.

I absolutely detested that season, the season before had got me so excited, and I thought Acuña would be the dog's ******** (that season's Araujo?), yet we were nowhere near promotion and were constantly getting kicked in the ******** with late goals. I had absolutely no idea what the Pozzo model (back when it was still ahead of the curve) had in store for us then, but it turned out that Abdi and Vydra returning, plus a few other smart signings across the season had us in good nick so we could just pretend 2013-14 never happened, unfortunately we are a long way off being able to challenge next season

Can't say I came into this season with the same level of optimism, but even at our muddled worst in the early stages of the season I always thought we'd be one or two players away from clicking into gear and getting at least play-offs, yet I think it's fair to say that overall this season (barring one result!) has been worse than even my most pessimistic expectations...

Looking back at our squads in those seasons, not only does the 13-14 squad look stronger than what we'll be left with, but there were a lot of signings in the 14-15 season, with a hit ratio we probably haven't matched since then. Long story short, we're ****ed...

Amazingly it still doesn’t compare with the 2010/11 season in terms of points lost - 37 dropped when winning! No wonder we had the highest number of goals in our matches that season (I’m pretty sure)…

But like you said, the level of expectation plays a significant part in how you enjoy (or don’t enjoy) a season. And although we finished in similar fashion to 2013/14 and I was disappointed we finished way short of the play-offs in the end, on the whole it was a fun season, one of my favourite non-promotion ones in the second tier. Looking at a couple of our star players from that season, while Sordell sadly failed to live up to his early promise with us, I’d forgotten that Graham spent a couple of seasons in the Prem with Swansea and was quite a capable player up there, more’s the pity.

It didn't matter in those days whether we started off the season challenging for the play-offs or fighting relegation, we just seemed surgically attached to the middle of the table! It was nice back then to see a healthy contingent of academy lads in the team then too (even if none of them proved to be stars in the end), if there are any positives about our current financial strife, it's that we might see more of the kids come through now, Andrews can be proud of his work today!

Danny Graham was a terrific striker for a lower mid-table team to have in the Championship. He scored 41 goals for us over the two seasons he was at Watford. We can only dream of having someone like that now.
