Ah yes, I remember that, didn't watch them religiously, but I seem to recall they weren't quite the well-oiled machine they are now, but were generally playing quite well and just not quite getting the results, while we were always spluttering. I don't want to criticise Edwards too much for his time here as he was always hamstrung (Bilic deserves some criticism even if he had similar limitations), but Kompany has done well there to get so many new players to gel, even if their recruitment was many orders of magnitude smarter than ours

I remember Norwich were sort of the anti-Burnley early in the season, grinding results without really deserving to, it's no real surprise that they've fallen away

I guess this has probably happened before in the championship anyway, but interesting little factoid in that Rob Edwards and Chris Wilder will face each other as managers twice this season but for different clubs on each occasion. And Edwards will have also faced Carrick at Boro as well.

I was looking at our remaining fixures, and our toughest looking games left are QPR, Lootwon and Sunderland. All away from home. Every other game is "winnable" but that's in quotes because we're Watford and nothing is ever that simple. People are saying win over half of our last eleven and we're in the playoffs, which I agree with to an extent, but also we have to rely on other sides dropping points. One thing going for us is despite our awful run of two wins in x-amount of games we are only 4pts away. Two wins in a row (ideally) and we make up that difference. Looking at the sides fighting it out with us, Sunderland, Millwall and Luton are the most likely to get into it. I am almost convinced Boro' will overtake Sheff Utd in the run-in. May as well give Burnley the title.

First 12 games were W4 D7 L1. Three games we were 1-0 up in injury time and drew.

    Since then it's been W18 D4 L1.

I thought we had a decent record at Loftus Road to be honest. Turns out I was wrong!!

They haven't won since 22nd October...we are the most common cure for this kind of form

Not quite, they won 1-0 at Preston on 17th December in Critchley's first game.

I'm in the lower tier at QPR on Saturday. Always been upper when I've been before. Are the facilities as bad as the upper tier?

Probably. I haven't been to Loftus Road since we won 2-1 in our Boothroyd promotion season. If the top teir was bad, bottom teir is going to be worse as a rule in most away stands. Bradford is actually the worst I have ever seen. Lost the game 3-2 (99/00), pizzed down with rain all the way back and I am certain I stepped in something in the little girls' room. Dump.

Yes. I think I was last in there for the win when Colin was their manager and Danny Graham scored twice.

I can't remember when it was that I was there, but I do remember that Marlon King was in the stand with the fans, and he was still playing for us, but was out injured at the time.

It was when QPR hit the cross bar and we went straight up the other end from the rebound and scored what I believe was the winner, Ashley Young was the scorer I think?

Not the winner. It was the equaliser. The winner was an OG.

Nevermind the play-offs Luton aren't exactly out of top 2 contention!

I don't understand the negativity. We are top half and over 36 games we have won 2 games more than we have lost, and scored 2 more goals than we have conceded.
And just look at how exciting the champ table is looking !

It would have seemed incredible at the start of the season that with 10 games to go we'd be pretty much out of contention to even finish in the top 6.
Stunning collapse. If Luton hadn't poached our young promising manager, I wonder where we'd be today.
Still, 10 straight wins and we are right back in contention, we can still catch Luton, and Brentford etc.

I sense sarcasm in this post, but I see no evidential reason whatsoever why we can't now go on a run and win every single game we play from Tuesday until the inevitable heat death of the universe.

I seem to remember most of the chunts on this forum saying they much prefer life in the championship to the premier League.

Still think the same? You bunch of whoppers.

I went to Coventry v Hull today. Genuinely the best game I've seen all season, both streets ahead of Watford. I would love Watford to play with that intensity and fight, haven't seen it in 5 years from us.

With Sunderland’s win at Norwich today, we’re now 11th. The exact same position we were when the Pozzo’s purchased us.

Nope. That was 13th. That year we attained 60 points. I suspect we’ll better that this season. But there were plenty of goals that season. We scored 74 and conceded 64. So at least the entertainment value was higher than this season’s dull fest.

We had some horrendous luck that season that can't really be legislated for, it was thankfully a blip in what was at the time a very upward trajectory!
