Can't be right, it says we draw 3 more games. Lies.

What a repellant team Bournemouth are. Wilson makes sure the leg gets clipped and then Ritchie in the face of the ref to ensure the red card. Can't stand them.

Maybe but what team doesn't have players like that.

All about gaining an advantage for them - even at 3-1 up.

Haven't checked stats but would guess muff have been against 10 men in at least a third of their games and must have had close to a dozen pens.

11 penalties given for them. Interestingly, "low scoring" Boro are second with 8 and then we're on 7. Penalties against, they're joint second with just the one.

EDIT: Was looking for stats for red cards against but can't find any.

Not pretending we're saints and there isn't the occasional dive (Forestieri etc) but there is a real difference between taking an ill-conceived gamble once in a while for the good of your team and going down every time someone so much as guffs near you aka Wilson. :dismay:

And this business of creating one's own 'luck', whining over EVERY little decision and surrounding the ref - don't get me started. Bournemouth, Norwich, various Prem teams...utterly detestable the lot of them and a real misery to watch as a neutral. Schumacher/F1 comes to mind. Just because it works a lot of the time is not reason enough to do it. The fact we are where we are without resorting to those kind of tactics just goes to show there is another way.

    EDIT: As you were...

BBC gossip column says today that, if Blackburn go out to Liverpool in the FA Cup, Jordan Rhodes could be going on loan to Derby.

Don't know what difference their draw will mean (as there will be a replay), but thought I'd post it on here anyway.

Oh, and it was originally reported in The Sun - don't hold your breath.

It also said something like "Bolton are hoping to give their chance of reaching the play-offs a push by signing Feruz on loan from Chelsea"

I think their chances of making play-offs are done tbh! Went to grab the exact quote but looks like they've changed it now.

lol i swear the people who write these things know absolutely nothing about football.

  13. Reading won tonight v Brighton so are now effectively safe; hopefully they'll bring a totally weakened squad to VR on saturday, resting the first choice team in order to maximise chances of getting to Wembley. Probably wigan will be a trickier prospect as they are not quite gone, although a loss to Rotherham on saturday and Brighton and Fulham wins should make them virtually down barring a miracle. Millwall will hopefully be relegated by the time we play them; likewise Forest will hopefully be out of the play-off race, so that apart from the 3 big ones, nobody we play will have anything to play for...

If Millwall are already relegated by the time we play them, they'll play without stress. Once teams know their fate, they often improve. And they've got a new (acting) manager, which will make a difference one way or the other.

I agree. The 'nothing to play for' thing is a false economy. You don't see many teams not turning up at this level and as we found against Leeds two years ago sometimes all it needs is us to have everything to play for in order for the opposition to find some motivation too.

Rhodes linked with a move to Derby.

Bowyer dismisses link and says Rhodes won't leave.

Now apparently very lose to a loan move to Boro.

Why do Boro need him? Is he really better than Bamford/Kike/Vossen?

If they have him, it means Derby don't.

I think this is abuse of the loan system. I know we can't really talk, but surely there should be a cut off point for loans and it should be earlier than this point in the season?

Yeah - it does feel like the kind of situation the transfer deadline was supposed to prevent. Team with nothing to play for gives their best player to a team in contention for the last 8 games in return for a big fee!

Exactly, I read that Blackburn will only agree to it if they agree to buy him at the end of the season for £12 million. So essentially they're just buying him after (as you say) Blackburn know they have nothing left to play for really.

Laughably, Forest also claim to be in the hunt for him even though I reckon it's impossible under the rules of the embargo they operate under.

if Watford and Naarch go up could Bassong be the 1st player to get 2 promotion medals from the same division in the same season?

Ruddy needs to assert himself more there in my opinion. It's a foul on him yes but many a keeper would have seen off Hendrick long before he got into a position to hold his arm like that.

Yep, and to even try and catch the ball one handed on his own line... his own fault really!

looks the part, but whenever i've seen him on tele he hasnt a clue where the goal is! given their game is on the deck, not sure an aerial threat is what they need for the run-in.

So, the moves affecting us today are:

Mustapha Carayol - Middlesbrough to Brighton, until end of season
Jonny Williams - Crystal Palace to Ipswich, until end of season
Zeki Fryers - Crystal Palace to Ipswich, until end of season
Dwight Tiendalli - Swansea to Middlesbrough, until end of season
Diego Fabbrini - Watford to Birmingham, until end of season (after being recalled from Millwall)
Graham Dorrans - West Brom to Norwich, extension until end of season
Kenwyne Jones - Cardiff to Bournemouth, until end of season
Luke Varney - Blackburn to Ipswich, extension until end of season
Richard Chaplow - Millwall to Ipswich, extension until end of season

Ipswich have had a busy day so far! Us and Derby are the only teams in the top 6 not to have bought anyone in today, hopefully it's just because they're confident we have what we need!

On a separate note, Richard Lee has joined Fulham on loan until the end of the season.

Its been going along very smoothly and quietly at Elland Road but wasn't going to last - the assistant has gone and the manager might.

Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has said he is "considering his position" after assistant coach Steve Thompson was suspended.

Thompson joined Leeds from neighbours Huddersfield in December and, alongside Redfearn, has overseen the club losing just three league games this year
