Well if it's history of the United States I'd rather not bother. It's not if most of its true anyway.
Playing tonight at 10 v England . Free to view on FIFA website which must be the first time that corrupt gangster organisation has done anything for the everyday fan.
So far he looks like the Italian Dominic Blizzard. Chukwemeka looks quality wouldnt mind him on loan or Spurs' Alfie Devine looks great at pressing and top notch finish for the goal.
You can tell he is a quality player although bit too fond of the sideways pass for my liking. Makes some great runs from deep for the through ball.
Scored a late penalty to win Italy the game . England not happy with the decision it seems . Harsh handball .
Poor decision for penalty but supremely executed by Casadei with a Kanesque shot into the roof of the net.
Yeah he took a while to get going in the match and only seemed to come alive when his side were on the attack and he could play on the front foot and stretch his legs a bit. When he was sitting more in front of the defence he seemed ponderous and with little interest in either progressing the ball up the pitch or putting tackles in. He'd really need a manager forcing him to play proactively, pushing up on the opponents and allowing him to regularly get in to goalscoring positions. Ismael could be that I guess. He definitely doesn't seem someone you'd want to play as a 6.
The penalty was a scandalous decision - his hand was glued down by his side, not in an unnatural position or making himself larger whatsoever. The officials either didn't know what the handball rule is now or didn't care. England seemed to have two bigger penalty shouts earlier in the game as well, both with lunging tackles on Chukwuemeka which didn't get the ball.
No doubt he ll be snowed under with transfer requests after this game . ( Sorry only just got this gag, took me a while but I got there in the end )
And has scored again. We aren't going to get him are we - at this rate Premier league and other top division sides will want him or even Chelsea themselves to use in their squad.
Casadei got a goal , an assist and hit the post all with headers . Shame it meant Columbia got knocked out though
Did you watch the game? He is not ready for the Premier League, and Chelsea's squad is still absurdly large. I only got to see the first half yesterday, plus highlights of the second half, but my impression of him was basically the same as the one I had from the previous game vs England. In open play he was mostly a passenger and he basically did nothing on the ball - I think he had the ball at his feet about three times in the first half, and the first two times he just laid off a 4 yard sideways pass to a team-mate in a similar position to him, and the third time he tried to pass it forwards but just gave it straight to the opposition. He then scored a header with a good leap from a corner, and got an assist with another header from a run in to the box - but he's not going to be playing up against a team of small Colombian teenagers every week in the Champ/PL where he can comfortably out-jump everyone. Again, the only times he really seemed to be effective were in attacking areas. He should be playing as a no.10 for a team that sets up like Millwall or Preston, that basically bypasses the midfield and pumps balls in to the box for him to either attack or collect the second-ball off the back of. Maybe that will also not be too far off how we set up next season with Ismael's reputation, but my main reservation would be that we already have Louza and Asprilla as midfielders who are better offensively while also being pretty useless at protecting the defence.
No I didn’t see it tbh so take your word for it . So not really anything to get that excited about but might be able to cope with the Championship better than Araújo for example with the right set up around him ?
He's certainly physically strong enough for the Championship. The issues would more be ones of mentality and intensity at this stage - he seems to play in fits and starts, rather than being switched on the whole time. Also, the main attributes he seems to bring are in attack with his runs in to the box, dribbling and shooting - his playmaking and ball-winning abilities appear to currently be lacking. On the issue of the team's set up - as per my previous post I think he could make a good impact if he was used as the most advanced player in midfield to get the most out of his offensive play and to compensate for his lack of defensive instincts and the times when he switches off. The two CMs behind him would need to be defensively sound (with good progressive passing). Whether we actually intend to play a formation with such a midfield set-up, and whether we will actually still need an extra player for such a position, are additional questions.
