Some classic Hanson during the Auction. On the skipware pigeon holes:

    It's industrial. It's now.

44 compartments, with a lovely worn, tired, corroded green finish.

    Cue much audience LAUGHTER.

    BBC approved preamble:
    Worcester 29
    Bargain Hunt Series 60
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00116nt
Natasha Raskin Sharp visits Worcester, where experts Thomas Forrester and Tim Weeks guide the teams in their search for valuable items before heading to the auction in Staffordshire. Natasha also visits a rare collection of Traveller caravans.

    The Translation:
A bit of a Gypsy theme today with Gypsy Queen Strict Natasha, she's ready to DQ any Didicoy infringing, larking around the campfire at the Worcester Tinkers Tat Trade with Gypsy Cream Treepants Weeks and unlucky heather Tubby Thomas, at least it's not Shrieky Blindus Hawley. Auctioning, or should that be fencing, the items will be Gypsy Tart Hanson, displaying his crystal balls for all to see and banging away in his wagon.

    The Staff:
[Gaffer] Strict Natasha Raskin Sharp, Chief Warden and Rule Book Enforcer
[Red Team Expert] Tubby Thomas Forrester, the plump schoolboy
[Blue Team Expert] Timpole Tudor Wunderbar Weeks
[Auctioneer] Charles Madness Manson Hanson, the Galloping Gavellier
[Auction Location] Hanson Auction House, Bishton Hall, Staffs
    (Miserlin Rating: Unlisted)

    Start.jpeg Auction.jpeg

    The Teams:
[Red Team] Married Iranian Scientist and Maths Teacher wifey. She can outshriek Foghorn. Pity her poor neighbours after an early night.
    (Challenge: Connected to water)
[Blue Team] Dance Teach couple. He looks like a toilet/chimney brush and she is very easy on the eye, being a dancer is a very nice bonus.
    (Challenge: Connected to fire)

    The Shopping:
Reds: Metal hand-painted puppy figurine (28) topend, Double gourd French soda syphon (88 Challenge) ouch, Birmingham silver jewellery box (90) topend.
Blues: Pair of Lorna Bailey pottery cats (42) bargain, Tin-plate fire truck pedal car (65 Challenge) good, Knackered Pigeon hole unit (75) ouch.

    The Distraction:
Strict Natasha learns all about Traveller caravans, peg making, and dodgy fairground rides. Negative stereotyping is mentioned. It's begging unbelievable. Natasha checks her pockets for her phone and cards.

    Distraction.jpeg

    The Auction:
Reds: Metal hand-painted puppy figurine (big profit), Double gourd French soda syphon (largish loss), Birmingham silver jewellery box (evens stevens).
Tubby's BB is a Novelty gilt-brass squirrel minus acorn tape measure (82), 60-80, 80. Another loss for Tubby.

    DogFigurine.jpeg TapeMeasure.jpeg

Blues: Pair of Lorna Bailey pottery cats (42), Tin-plate fire truck pedal car (small profit), Knackered Pigeon hole unit (largish loss).
Timpole's BB is a set of costume jewellery brooches (40), 20-30, 90. Nice profit from Weeks.

    LornaBaileyCats.jpeg CostumeJewellery.jpeg

    The Aftermath:
Typical outdoor Dreamblazer auction. Hanson works his magic and has the punters throwing money at him. Nice 3-figure fat profit from Beanpole thin Weeks and a wafer thin profit from Fatty Tubby. Tubby's Reds had a mixed bag auction. The Iranian couple with shrieky wife did well with the Puppies, Hanson really working the room, but nearly lost all the profit on the Tubby Disaster Gourd, he really can't help himself. They went into the BB with a 4 note profit and almost wiped it out with a knackered squirrel tape measure. Luckily, Charles was on hand to milk the audience for all he was worth and minimise the Tubby loss. The Dancing Blues had Weeks to guide them to a near Golden Gavel. Just the skip rescued pigeon holes making a loss. He also redeemed himself with a job lot of costume brooches, which with Hanson's help, cleaned up with a 50 quid profit. Definitely, a tale of 2 experts.

    Oswestry 8
    Bargain Hunt Series 55
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000gxtm
Anita Manning and Christina Trevanion are in the heart of Shropshire for today’s Bargain Hunt from the antiques and collectors fair at Oswestry Showground. The reds and blues do battle with the help of antiques experts Kate Bliss and Ochuko Ojiri. Which team will make the most profit at auction? Christina visits one of the most historically important buildings in Britain, a flax mill in Shrewsbury which can lay claim to being the world’s first skyscraper.

    The Translation:
Today it's Beauty and the Beast with the gorgeous Christina, a picture of loveliness doing the Auction duties while the gorgonous McWitch haunts the antiques and collectors fair at Oswestry Showground. They are joined by Trilly Bliss and Chucko who as Commando Perseus helps Trilly polish up a large brass plate (a item to fulfill a Challenge) so they can view Medusa McWitch indirectly via reflection. One of the other items found is a Death Mask which was the gasman when he came round to read McWitch's meter earlier in the week. The Auction today is with the Dalek from his Skaro Salesroom. Luckily, he gets to view Christina and work his plunger.

    The Staff:
[Gaffer] Anita McWitch Manning, the Glaswegian Baba Yaga (Shopping)/Steamstress Christina Trevanion (Auction)
[Red Team Expert] Posh Kate Shrilly Trilly Bliss
[Blue Team Expert] Ochuko Commando Chuko Ojiri, commando on top, let's hope he's not commando below
    [Auctioneer] Richard Emperor Dalek Winterton
    [Auction Location] Skaro aka Lichfield
    (Miserlin Rating: Unlisted)

    Start.jpeg Auction.jpeg

    The Teams:
[Red Team] Best female friends Lecturer and Government Scientist, if she tells you any more then she will have to kill you.
    (Challenge: Brass)
[Blue Team] Engaged Alt Couple, she is a stay at home mum who has a crutch, well put it that way she has 2, an internal and external one and he is a water technician
    (Challenge: Find in a school)

    The Shopping:
Reds: Brass Eastern tray top table (10 Challenge) topend, Birmingham silver caddy spoon (30) topend, Ship's lantern (95) ouch.
Blues: School desk and chair (38 Challenge) topend, Boxed Japanese children's organ (18) topend, Death mask (115) ouch.

    The Distraction:
Christina takes over and talks about anything she wants to talk about. She visits a flax mill in Shrewsbury which can lay claim to being the world’s first skyscraper. Next time she'll view a cornflake and knitting needle school project which claims to be the world's first supercomputer.

    Distraction.jpeg

    The Auction:
Reds: Brass Eastern tray top table (small profit), Birmingham silver caddy spoon (small profit), Ship's lantern (loss).
Trilly's BB is a a Trench art sweetheart airplane brooch (30), 5-10, 35. It was a very unusual item that deserved to make a profit. Well done Trills.

    Lantern.jpeg AeroplaneBrooch.jpeg

Blues: School desk and chair (loss), Boxed Japanese children's organ (small loss), Death mask (small loss).
Chuko's BB is a Tin miniature globe (12), 8-12, 11. Another small loss. LOL

    DeathMask.jpeg Globe.jpeg

    The Aftermath:
Steady Auction with very much come and get me underestimates from the Dalek. Apart from Tilly's BB brooch the Reds Teams items were unspectacular and fairly safe and they ended up with a safe 10 note profit. The wacky alt Blues where much riskier with their purchases and they all made small losses including Chuko's BB. I don't think that has happened before but I could be clutching at straws.

    RedWin.jpeg BlueLoss.jpeg

    The Hi-Kick:
Standard indoor. A bit uncoordinated with the Red girls being late but the Blue Team being above par and on time. Yes, YES!!

Keeping it in the family. Snigger. There are plenty of remote villages in Wales where this has been a problem. Not as bad as in Ireland though where self-imposed inter-marrying within a restricted subset of communities over the generations has brought forth various genetic disorders not seen in the rest of the British Isles. If you do go forth and multiply do try and diversify the gene pool. End of lecture.
