I wouldn't like to be partially responsible for Reids giving up on this thread. Just because I've lost faith, doesn't mean that y'all should too. You could make thousands and rub it in my face.

I'm just not a natural gambler, as has probably been apparent in my cynicism and posts.

 

It's not just you moog (or partially you!), i've been thinking it over for a while, wondering why it wasn't working as well as i've known it to in the past, and that's when I realised (don't really know why it took so long!) that inplays are so much easier than pre-games. I've just posted the following on the Facebook group:

As i'm sure you're aware, we haven't had the best of it lately. I have made a substantial amount from betting in the past, however a vast majority of my bets have been in-play. Inplay betting is far easier to make profit from, as you can adapt to certain scenarios that you can't on a pre-game bet.

I thought this could work given the knowledge and experience I have, I was sure that I could make a significant amount of profit for everyone in here. Sadly that hasn't been the case, and for that I can only apologise. As a result i'm going to be cutting the losses now. Over the next few days, i'll be renaming the group and posting some details, but in short what i'll be doing is turning this group into a In-play betting group (i'll be closing the other in-play group that exists). Whilst I recommended PaddyPower for the pre-game bets, if you're looking to follow for inplay bets, I recommend you get a Bet365 account, most of the bets will be done on there as no other bookie comes close for inplays.

Once again I apologise for the few quid I've lost everyone, but if you stick with me for the inplays, we can make it back!

I've not followed all your bets but have enjoyed the reading the write ups. I normally do my bets as a reason to have an added interest in other games/leagues and this certainly served that purpose.

Well, we were desperately unlucky last night. I can't think what happened in Milan. I see Celtic have Morton in a crucial Scottish League Cup tie this Tuesday. I can only assume they played their youth team in Milan and rested all the senior players for Morton.

As for west London, if only Chelsea and Basel had scored 3 and 2 more goals each respectively, and if only it rained a little harder - well at all in fact, we would have been quids in.

The bets are cagey to start off with but as the pot grows we will start to be a bit more adventurous. Just stick with it.

Reids, what does 1pt mean on your facebook posts? I bet on the Mlada Boleslav U21 game and won but I didn't know what stake you'd recommend. Does 1pt mean £1? I got 15/8 for it though.

I will be using a staking system that will tell you how much to stake on a particular bet, it's a dynamic system, so no matter how much you have in your balance, you can make it work for you and it's rather simple:

5 points = 5% of your balance
4 points = 4% of your balance
3 points = 3% of your balance
2 points = 2% of your balance
1 points = 1% of your balance

That's what i'd recommend doing anyway, you can of course make your own stakes, by saying the amount of points, basically shows my confidence in it!

Truly gutted. Once again Lady Luck was not on our side. The Spurs v Tromso match I hope UEFA look into that. Tromso, one place above relegation in the Norwegian league beat league leaders Rosenborg last weekend so should easily have been able to dispatch Spurs. If ever a game was rigged by some dodgy Asian gambling consortium this was one. That score of 3-0 was never going to happen unless somebody nobbled the ref or players or ball boys or someone.

Unbelievable that Derek Payne didn't commentate on the PAOK Salonika v Shakhtyor Karaganda match. If he couldn't pronounce the teams themselves what chance any of the actual players. Thought that was a no-brainer banker.

Thought too the treble was a safe bet. I have no idea where Zulte-Waregem is but it does sound like a place that has an unreliable electrical supply.


So we are a couple of quid or so down over the two days so far but that is to be expected. It's a marathon not a sprint after all. My knowledge and research plus a small change of luck will see us back on winning ways of that I am absolutely certain.

This is the funniest thing I've read on the forum for years. I am laughing in the office and even have some tears welling in my eyes.

 

Sadly no bets today, or any other days. Somebody got upset by my betting strategy and despite two pms from me explaining it was just a silly bit of fun and in no way directed towards them, that person declined to accept my apologies.

For what it's worth I think that person should grow up some and learn to be able to laugh at himself and know that being on a football forum opens yourself up for a bit of banter and possibly some gentle mickey-take, but always in the friendliest of ways.
