Surely it can't be as good without John Anderson?

Just started watching this Dutch drama called Rampvlucht or 'The crash' - true story about an Israeli cargo plane that crashed in to a block of flats in 1992 after an engine broke off. In the aftermath lots of people started to get very sick and so started the cover-ups/conspiracies as to what the plane was really carrying.

If you're fine watching TV with subtitles, check it out. Very good so far (5 parts).

    Here's the trailer (no subtitles):

Also, does anyone know when season 2 of Severance will be on? The strike seemed to affect it pretty bad plus there has apparently been a lot of issues between the creator and the producer. Be a shame if they don't finish it, season 1 was outstanding.

    Er… I know.

It was an attempt at humour.

The Tourist. On series two now which is a mix of gangland violence with some humour thrown in. Loving it

Surprised there isn’t more talk about The Bear. Truly one of the most astoundingly brilliant shows I’ve ever seen. The Christmas episode could probably be the best hour of TV ever made. Just amazing.

Interesting. I liked the first series with the Aussie setting, but I was a bit put off by the reviews of the second and I wasn't sure the original premise would work a second time. I might give it a try, though.

Great character drama and Jamie Lee quite terrifying. Love how Richie’s character develops.

First series was efficiently brilliant in the short sharp shock kind of style, as much as anything, and when I heard of a second being in production I was really unsure because it was so perfectly frantic and well-contained as one.

Then the second series arrived, and it quickly became clear the scope was a lot broader and deeper, and for a second there was a worry it might have lost itself in wannky rumination for the sake of having a story to drag out, but instead that wasn't the case in any form whatsoever, and they'd just managed to improve something that was already genuinely brilliant and, as you say, take it further into being one of the most perfect pieces of narrative storytelling of the modern era.

I thought the second series was a sh*te. Ran out of ideas and felt like a Guy Ritchie film but worse (if that's possible).

I couldn't stand the bear. ****y handheld camera constantly moving, making my eyes hurt style is a massive no with a bunch of people shouting and being sulky.

It’s a little challenging at first. I didn’t take to the first episode, but it’s hugely rewarding if you stick with it.

I'm breaking my "...only comment after 4 eps..." rule but I was blown away by the first "Sexy Beast" - an actor who out 'Ben Kingslyed" Ben Kingsley was the icing on the cake. Tamsin Grieg was a revelation.

Started watching Mr. Robot the other night. Halfway into the second season now, and it’s been pretty good so far. I think they’ve done a nice job of representing the internal struggle to deal with the little voices and doubts in our heads.

Great show. Some of the most realistic depictions of actual hacking I've seen in media.

Gets a bit weird near the end though!

I'm proving Freud's dictum that I'm an adult by denying myself pleasure: I'm rationing myself to one episode a week of 'Sexy Beast' I've watched the first two with two 'still in the bank'. Kerrist it's good - highly nuanced performances from the cast who bring an intricately woven script to life. London gangsters in the early noughties (it very odd watching the pub scenes where everyone's smoking) it's most definitely not:

They've really captured the intimacy of some of the early "Sopranos" episodes...

Went back and watched Trigger Point S1 as I’d never heard of it and saw S2 being heavily pushed on ITV. It seems bomb disposal is no longer a case of sweating over which wire to cut and it what order, but instead it’s a case of pointing what looks like a 70s style microphone on a tripod at the offending bomb, pressing fire and it then magically defuses it?

(although in most cases somebody does something careless or stupid before they get the chance to do this)

Series 1 wasn't too bad. Series 2 so far is a car crash and I've informed Mrs Diamond that I'm done with it.

Yes Series one wasn’t too bad, Series two I’ve finished, I’ll put this as a spoiler just in case
There are so many stupid things in S2, but for some reason this one really got me. In the final episode when Lana is trying to get the bomb near the Home Secretary, she clearly says I’m not interested in the mechanics of the bombs, Lana interjects for obvious reasons which is fine, but the cool, calm and to the point head of police guy then turns into a blithering idiot explaining how the bomb works, stumbling over his words and just talking a load of nonsense, while the Home Secretary says nothing. I know it was all to waste time for the purposes of the eventual outcome, but it was just so mind bogglingly stupid, unrealistic and out of character,
