We play well: "Sarr was holding us back"
We play badly without Sarr: "Bachmann should've claimed the cross" "It was 15 yards out...?" "Fine he should've saved the header" "It was in the top corner...?"

It's nice to see we keep up the tradition of having our favourite scape goats to blame.

I personally blame Paredes. The rest of them were right troopers today, but he let us down.

Four points from the last nine. Never going to go anywhere near going up when you draw at home to Wigan and Preston and lose at QPR. We are where we are, table doesn't lie. I really do not think the manager has any information that the players' take on. In one ear and out the other. Also forgot to say, JP was god awful today. Not sure what is was, but he looked like he totally lacked motivation. Even when they scored we had more than enough time left to get something. We just didn't look interested.

Couldn't believe how tired we were after about 60 minutes. Most of them could barely walk.

I never understand how we can turn out one game and look decent, then cr@p the next game, let alone play well for half a game but terrible the rest.?
OK so there's 2 teams involved etc, but key issues must be:-

    * various players' lack of technical ability.
    * players inability to understand & play to tactics.
    * lack of personal player leadership on pitch.
    * General lack of personal confidence.
    * poor fitness.
    * players played out of position.
    * complete lack of cojones.

We seem to be great at ticking a lot of those boxes in recent years.....

Rubbish, half of them were visibility unable to move after about 70 mins as well

Heard a ‘Pozzo out’ chant for the first time in the Rookery today as well

Our fitness levels have been a problem all season. Take away the injury crisis, we have had our first choice eleven or close enough for a few weeks now. Nobody knows the real reason our players looked gassed well before the end of games, but it's something that needs looking at in the close season.

The players thought they would beat the bottom team no problem and the performance showed. So boring and abject, it’s painful to watch. Dilly dallying on the ball for way too long and a complete lack of cohesion between midfield and strikers. We could have 100 coaches in a season, but with the same squad of players, the same rubbish will be dished out.
I dread to think how different our squad will be next season with so many new faces year on year, but keeping the faces you want to see the back of. It’s not an enjoyable time to be a Watford fan, not just because we are not in the playoffs or automatic promotion places, but because there’s just no desire anymore. I have to push myself to watch the game, I used to be a long-serving season ticket holder but gave it up pre-covid due to work commitments. I honestly couldn’t think of anything worse than drive all the way to the game and watch this team play. I’ve enjoyed worst Watford squads than this but this is my least favourite time ever supporting Watford.

Big rebuild ahead. We’re so far off it, about to lose our 2/3 best players and - I suspect - are financially right in the s***. Interesting times.

Yes agreed. At least with Pozzo at the helm we can confidently be assured that 8 or 9 incoming in the summer will all be a good fit and ideal for the Championship.

Thank God we have the best scouting network in the world

If anything this season and this result in particular highlights that Gino has got to stop blaming the manager and look at the players - you have to back the manager and buy the players he wants not what the owner wants. The whole is always greater than the sim of its parts ….. we are looking at this all wrong and have been for years - buy good individuals that don’t work in the team makes them look worse and worth less money in the transfer market …..wake up you fool - pick a manger and back him with the players he wants - only them will you make your money. If you can’t see that then you will drive this club into the ground and bankrupt your self and your family

On another note, today solidified my frustration with our managers refusal to play Asprilla instead of Bacuna.

Bacuna is crap and always will be crap. Offers nothing. As soon as Asprilla came on, we got some momentum going forward again. He wants to make things happen. Genuinely thought Asprilla was our best player today and he played a whole whopping 15mins plus injury time.

Was obvious when we play these lower league crap teams they set up with 11 men behind the ball, playing a back 5 and look to counter. Asprilla is needed in these games.

Our chances of making of the play-offs are practically nonexistent, but if we’re serious about going for it then Asprilla has to start over Bacuna.

I am Bachman’s biggest critic but difficult to say he should have saved the header. It was a great header. It should never have gone out to wing as Bachman should claimed ball earlier in play but even I think that is hoarse.

In any case dies not change fact that a new goalie will be high up on list if we are serious about promotion next year but can’t blame today on him.

pedro has been woeful for 4 weeks now

Really dissapointing performance the movement was so slow they looked knackered but the worst thing that was annoying was the amount of play acting and wasting time from Wigan absolute embarrassing regardless of where they are in the league

Pedro and Sarr know they won't be here next season. Their mind's are elsewhere. As said complete reworking of the squad. Ubenga and new manager plus a psychologist, a new fitness team and medical staff. All deadwood and there is plenty of it to be cut out. There's a real canker in this side and has been for several seasons.

No, the fact we couldn’t compete with that is the most annoying thing. Wigan are scrapping and clawing for everything and I have zero issues with their tactics. The ‘Premier League’ ref lost complete control early on and was embarrassing for both sides.

The 2014-15 side would have brushed them aside and won 4/5-0. This horrible mishmashed hodge podge of unsuitable, unskilled and unmotivated players makes me wonder if the people in charge had any role in forming that squad at all.

The only thing I saw that I liked about the performance was the fact Wilder must have told them to fizz the crosses in, Ngakia and Sema put some real pace on a few. But everything else was pretty dire.

And to cap off a truly awful day, I discovered a 10 litre pot of white emulsion had toppled over and leaked all over the back of my car on the way home. Just perfect.

That's very irritating to put it mildly.

Good luck cleaning that mess up. Which is probably what Wilder is saying to anyone who cares to listen but isn't Pozzo.

Presumably the Wigan players' wages went in to their accounts at half time.

Unfortunately Wilder didn't have the nouse to overcome Wigan's game plan - which was swap ends if we win the toss and start the gamesmanship and general sh1thousery straight from the kick off.

I can only think of one worse team in this league than Wigan... us.
