On the upside, I still had it open on my iPad from lunchtime and just checked and it still works. So I can catch the second half now. Phew!

Big night for AJ. A defeat and I can’t really see a way back for him, and I think he knows it’s a ‘must win’. Win and it will
Set up a massive fight against Fury.

Plenty of fights out there for Joshua, win lose or draw!

Joyce, Dubois, Hergovic, Wilder (if he grows a pair and signs a contract), Fury fight is still there for him as well as the casuals want to see it more than anything! They don't care about belts or legacy they want to see two of the best heavyweights the UK has ever produced, throw down!

Would love to see Joshua win tonight, just think Usyk has got his number sadly.

Yes would love to see AJ win which will set up undisputed fight against Fury. Will be interesting to see what his tactics are, he certainly needs to be more aggressive. Trying to outbox Usyk again would be a disaster.

AJ will be relying on a knockout in one of the early rounds. Think Usyk is too good on his feet for that.

Better performance from AJ but just not quite good enough.

    To say the least.
I was listening on the way home and it sounded even to me, although I know next to nothing about people hitting each other!

Amazed that it was a split decision. Usyk was the clear winner

British judge went for Joshua. Ridiculous call. He did much better than the first fight and did have his moments but he clearly lost that, albeit valiantly.

Usyk excellent tonight - shame Joshua had to make it all about him after.

Agreed. Lost a lot of fans tonight, myself included. Not because of his performance, I actually think he boxed really well but just ran out of steam in the last 2/3 rounds. I would say he was winning that 5-4 going into round 10 and Usyk took over to win 7-5, but the way he conducted himself after the fight was cringeworthy and embarrassing!

I think his head has totally gone.

Never been the same since the Klitschko fight, he won that but really didn't like being put on his arse and you could tell that after that he was always worried about his chin. Became very cautious and tried to dress it up as trying to be a proper boxer but was pretty obvious that he's a very strong and powerful guy that just doesn't like being hit. Has done well to eke it out for a few more years with some good selection of opponents but as soon as Klitschko and then Ruiz dropped him, he was done at the top level. He's simply not a fighter in the way others are, he's too timid now.

Did you really believe he was winning it?
Uysk was pure class and I'd say even better than their first fight.

They were very tight subjective rounds. He certainly didn't walk away with it like he did in the first fight, it was much more competitive.

115-113 is exactly how I scored it for Usyk, the same as one of the judges, so I don't see how you can be that shocked I had Joshua 5-4 up with 3 to go, as that's how the fight was scored by professionals as well!

Usyk was fantastic, but more so because he adapted really well in the later rounds to take control of the fight again! Joshua ran out of ideas and knew he couldn't stop him, plus he gassed out again in the last 2 rounds (the tenth took a lot out of him). What a pair of balls Usyk has to battle through that ninth round when he was almost out of it!

Joshua wasn't hurt badly at any point in the fight, the tenth he slowed down because Usyk was timing him.

The right result, the right winner, does anything else matter?

Shades of Bruno about him. Same glass jaw. Same immense physical stature. Same timidness about really going for it in case he takes one on the chin. Both just a bit too nice.

Yes AJ reminds me off Bruno as well. Both very muscle bond, which is great for knocking out duds, but when you are fighting a nimble/fast opponent that muscle saps the energy. AJ looked shot to bits in the last 3 rounds

    Just heard his rant.
Very emotional and perhaps he recognises that he's never going to regain the crown?
    Sport is brutal.
    Especially people hitting each other.

He doesn't have a "glass jaw" at all. This is a buzz term thrown about constantly by casual fans who don't really know what they're talking about that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

A much better showing in the ring overall and after the 9th I though he may well have him, but in the end beaten by someone who is simply an immense technical boxer, with an incredible engine, and who is just a really, really bad match up for Joshua stylistically.

I imagine we'll be looking at him fighting Whyte again next, maybe early next year. I'd still like to see him fight Deontay Fraudster as well and somewhere down the line the Fury fight will happen regardless of the losses.

Didn't see the post fight stuff.

A boxer will always beat a fighter as long as he keeps his discipline.

Call it what you like but he is more vulnerable when hit on the chin than the very best champions are.

Not sure he has a glass jaw, but I know what you mean. He has very little movement and is pretty static - he is easy to hit. Even in the fights he has won, he has been in trouble. Against Dillian White he was close to being knocked out, and against a 40 year Klitschko he was in all sorts of trouble.

Yes that's what I was referring to. He can be well on top and then one punch to the chin and it's as if he's in a trance, just like Bruno. "Glass jaw" maybe unfair but certainly seems a vulnerability that other top boxers seem to be able to absorb.

Watched the fight and never thought AJ was ahead for a single second. Usyk had his number from the off, how one judge scored AJ ahead is laughable.
To be honest the current crop of heavyweights are pretty lame and just on the money making merry-go-round. Mike Tyson in his prime would have taken them all apart in 4 rounds.

Glass jaw is OTT, but he does get ratted by bigger hits and his style goes out of the window more than other top heavyweights.

On Saturday he was upset because for the first time in his career, he couldn't blame a bad performance or inappropriate preparation. He boxed well but was outclassed and had no real answer, although a more instinctive boxer might have been able to take greater advantage in the 9th.

I'm not sure I have really seen the same AJ since he got knocked down by Klitschko. He doesn't manage the fight well and is far too timid.

The British judge DIDN’T give Joshua the split! It was the American judge. Steve Gray had it exactly how I did…..115-113 for Usyk.

Ok. Doesn’t have a glass jaw in the slightest. How many times have you seen him stretched out on the canvas failing to beat a 10 count? Never. Yeah he’s been dropped in fights and also stopped (on his feet) but every single fighter in heavyweight history has either been dropped or stopped. So I guess that means they all have weak chins??? Mike Tyson was counted out against Buster Douglas but has one of the best chins in HW history. Lennox Lewis was knocked spark out by Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman, but had a great chin!!

Joshua has taken some big shots in his career and just ate them up! His biggest mistake in his career was ditching Tony Simms from his camp! TS had Joshua’s mindset absolutely right, killer mode. Joshua’s changed his style to something he isn’t naturally (taking away all of his instincts and advantages) which has cost him in recent years.

Anyway, still massive fights out there for him, would love to see him fight Wilder because he could finally quash this ridiculous notion that Wilder is better than him! Joshua beats Wilder far worse than Fury did and far quicker!!

    All spot on.

The amount I see morons on Facebook insisting "wilder wud flatten aj the robot in 2 roundz!" is quite incredible.

Wilder has still never beaten literally anyone but an ancient Ortiz - who has never actually done much himself - who very nearly had him in the first fight and was again outboxing him again in the second, has gone well beyond round 2 and into the second half of fights with a number of the hand picked bums he's fought, can't box to save his life and has had his head softened by Fury, but he'd wipe out Joshua in two rounds? Laughable.

It's unbelievable how easily fooled people are by him. An absolutely woeful boxer who has done nothing in his career but smash out bin men and get battered by Fury. Joshua would destroy him.
