Yeah, I mean going by their Twitter account they’ve only publicly wished him well after his illness at the very end of last year, dedicated a matchday programme to him in February and tweeted about his final goal for Watford as part of an ‘on this day’ thing last month.

Plus they had him back a fortnight ago to hand out the goal of the season award on the pitch.

Their stubborn campaign of completely blanking him will no doubt continue unabated...

Maybe the club media team are staunch republicans and that's why they ignored Hodgson's honour?

What more can be said about Luther Blissett, that hasn't already been said?

He is an absolute legend. I'm so pleased for him and I feel so proud and fortunate that such a great man is part of our club. I'd love to see a statue of him at some point outside Vicarage Road. Such a decent dignified man, that makes me very proud to be a Watford supporter. Well done Luther.

Brilliant news. Great guy, irrespective of what he did for our team.

Met him face to face sometime ago in the school I was teaching in Luton, he was leading a racial awareness program aimed at young kids.

Our secretary grabbed him, told him a Watford fan was a teacher there and he made a beeline for me…such a genuine man

Fantastic news for someone who has always come across as wholly likeable and genuine. Great to see him strolling in front of the Rookery with a word for everyone, turned out to be the highlight of that Leicester shambles the other day. He thoroughly deserves this recognition and epitomises all the good things about our club. Slight affinity to him as I'm just a couple of months older than him and now share the same 'hairstyle' :). GT would be so proud of how Luther has continued his legacy in his trademark unassuming way.

It really doesn't seem that long ago that I was watching him nervously on the sidelines at the Vic, waiting to come on to turn a cup-tie against then mighty Newcastle in 1978. And in the early 80s every Saturday afternoon or Tuesday night seemed to witness one of these celebrations. Happy days indeed!

The man had a stellar career as a footballer but that's almost eclipsed by his humanity and constant giving to the community.

We all mourned when GT died but we were lucky because his adoptive son has carried on, living the values and spirit of everything that era embodied, to the letter.

    Luther is a treasure.

I wonder who nominated him, the Council, the Club, a charity or individuals? Anyway very well deserved.

This true legend has more passion, commitment and professionalism in his little toe then the whole of the first team squad of 2021-2022 put together, congratulations to Watfords adopted son.

Long overdue. The autographed photograph of Luther that hangs on the wall of my home office is one of the first things I'd grab if the house caught fire. Luther Blissett OBE. Excellent

    Still waiting...

They have tweeted about a range of new caps in the club shop though so that's nice.

Not a big fan of these type of awards, but very happy that Luther has received the recognition he absolutely deserves. Legend is an overused word, but it is entirely appropriate when talking about Mr. Luther Blissett, OBE.

Took me a few seconds to realise you meant on the bench beside him and had a brief vision of him being interviewed whilst sat on GT's shoulders...
