Okay. When I remove those variables, I look at what I saw with my eyes - and Foster was still dreadful.
Nick Pope has been fantastic again this season and he’s had a poor defence/team in front of him. Admitting Foster has been garbage this season doesn’t equal admitting he’s had a poor Watford career - and I think people are too clouded about what he used to be, when they judge him now.
The word "was" had been intended to imply previously to this year. This season he's not been as good as he was 2 or more years ago. Theres no chance we would have kept him on another season in the premier league had we miraculously stayed there. Can't say he's been abysmal, but the games where he pulls off a few stops to keep us in it seemed much less regular. And the gaffs seemed more common. To be fair hes only a few years younger than me and my knees, hips, back and feet are shot.
