For our collective sanity it is best to accept relegation. We are going in the wrong direction and no change of manager will stop the rot. Plan for the championship and try to curtail losses and get a proper five year plan in place, to include looking for a strategic investor.
The worst part is, with all these postponements and teams having played such a wide number of different games, it'll be mathematically possible to stay up for a while and all us fools will allow a bit of hope to creep in just to be let down when it really matters, yet again.
TheGhost is banned. Anyway, how much is entry? Do we have to bring our own food and drink? Is Rose the DJ?
I actually love the Championship. Plenty of games to get stuck into, especially midweek ones. Plus we might win a few more games!
I hope we can take Newcastle down with us and be heroes to football fans all over the world so this season wont be a complete waste.
Last time we went down, thanks to a set of freak circumstances, we managed to keep hold of Sarr, Hughes, Pedro, and even the players who weren't good enough for the Prem then had enough about them to be somewhat useful in the Championship, now surely any player with any ability will leave at the first opportunity, and the Cleverleys and Cathcarts of this world will be 2 years older...we're doing a Stoke lads
The thing is, I know this is said sarcastically but there’s fans saying this on social media for realsies. Says it all.
It aint over yet for the team, though it could be for Ranieri, because tonight was just an aberration and we will do better!!!
One would have thought today’s shambles might have caused some folks to reflect but we get stuff like: “Just enjoy being a premier league club for now”. These people are Pozzo fans, not Watford fans imo.
It’s alright - we have just been unlucky apparently according to these comments . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...oach/?action=success#comments-feedback-anchor Maybe true in some cases but you make your own luck by performing well and being effective where it matters. Not like we are the only team with AFCON players or had games call off .
Well let us hope that the toast is made more palatable with the addition of a nice thick spreading of Marmite ®.
The way I see it there are only 3 ways I can see us staying up now: 1) A sudden and unexpected improvement in form that sees us win enough games to finish 17th. 2) A new COVID variant that shuts the country down and ends the season prematurely. We scrape by on PPG (although would actually need another point for this). 3) Tensions in Ukraine escalate to full scale thermonuclear war with Russia, ending civilisation as well as the season. I hope the club is focusing on Option 1, but it’s a comfort to know there are back up options.
It’s the hope that kills you. It was the six game unbeaten run with four wins under Pearson that really hurt, because on reflection we should have stayed up. That won’t be us this year suffering those anguished regrets, but one of Norwich, Newcastle Everton, Leeds or Brentford.
The best part was the floodlights on 60 minutes decided they had seen enough and went for a 10 minute break, this enabled us poor souls to reflect, or whatever the word is for looking at those plastic torches the farmers brought with them!
On the bright side, Gray has just scored, so if we renew his contract that's our striker sorted out for next season.
Cant see that stopping the season. With the TV money just demanding matches are played in Australia. Hopefully Gino already tapping up Australian based top talent like left back Carl Jenkinson.
You joke, but I wouldn't put it past Poxbury to think like this. Imagine Gray and Fletcher up too, being supplied by King Ken and Dan Gosling...
