Yes, I think we’ll be getting him now. Pleased about it but I think we need one more quality player if Hughes goes.
It'll be some spectacular work from us if we don't sign Yokuslu from the position we're currently in. He's gagging for it and his club want to get rid.
I’d really like this happen, although I’m still not going to get my hopes up despite his agents comments. It’s any day now where Giaretta shoots this rumour down in an interview with the Italian press saying we’re not interested and we end up with Delph.
Think I’m in the minority on this one - don’t get the fuss and really would hope we could do better. Sure his ‘numbers’ look decent enough but he’s never been more than distinctly average in the games I’ve seen of him. If he’s the replacement for Hughes or Chalobah, I’ll be very underwhelmed. Whilst I accept funds are tight etc, I do think there’s a way to be ambitious at the same time. However, I very much sense the hierarchy of the club are not grasping how poor our squad is.
I keep seeing people talking about Dennis being 'exciting' and talking about how a front three with him and Sarr in it will 'frighten the life' out of opposition teams - I'm sorry, but I just cannot see it in the slightest - I think Dennis will very likely end up playing 1000 minutes or less this season, and flatter to deceive if he's very lucky. It almost seems like the people who are creaming their panties over him are doing it based on a FIFA card and nothing else. He's a good example of a 'new signing' addition to the squad that to me seems severely underwhelming, and a classic stereotypical Ponzo Dog Doo Daa Band recruit. The likelihood that he comes good (at least in the immediate-short term) is significantly lower than the likelihood that he does not, and that goes for most of the signings we've made so far this summer I think, probably excluding Louza.
Could be worse. I gather he’s contributed so many assists over the last 18 months, millions have been standing on their doorsteps on Thursday evenings applauding the Delph service.
I wasn't sure about him but having looked at the West Brom forum and speaking to a few Baggies fans to get their opinion on Yokosulu, everone one of them rates him very highly. Stylistically he seems to be exactly the type of player we need also. http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=25549.200
West Brom fans rate him very highly. Have not seen him play myself so cant make a judgement, but prepared to give him a chance.
You should also factor in that we see 'our' players in a much more favourable light than 'onlookers'. See the horrified reaction of Newcastle fans that they might be getting Hughes for Isaac Hayden.
He seems pretty limited in what he does, but he does that well. He certainly improves our squad, but Louza + Etebo + Okay seems a pretty lacklustre midfield.
Probbaly correct but what he does seemingly do very well is protect the back four and win the ball back, which is something I think we desperately need, especially if we are looking to play on the counter attack.
Not sure personally. It's a midfield that could prove very effective but I would say it's a big gamble!
They'd be coming from such a low base in my expectations in all honesty. Just miles off the quality we need in midfield IMO and the club are in dreamland about how good the squad is right now.
Having done a full scout on this guy ( FIFA card, WBA forum , YT video ) I’m convinced he is the key to success this season. Ball winner , technical and able to link defence to attack with quality short passing .
Yeah. It places an enormous burden on Louza. There is basically zero creativity in the rest of our midfielders combined.
Personally think it has the potential to be a much better midfield than most that we fielded last season.
I think Louza could probably do a job, but signing Okay and Thorsby would mean there was healthy competition around a balanced midfield. Ideally we'd want both of them, but just one and we could stay afloat.
No balance in that midfield at all. Two midfielders that can pass and Etebo who’s a ball carrier/ball winner. Front 3 would get zero service
