According to @SerieBNewsCom , Claudio Ranieri who was Sampdoria manager last season, has been following Mihăilă closely since last season and wants to bring him to Watford, in the Premier League, in the next transfer window He's a Romanian international left winger currently playing for Parma. Only 21.
Seems a weird one, it's not like we don't have enough players who can play as a left winger (even if Dennis goes to AFCON), and we might not even be playing a system with out and out wingers. Would rather we either bring in a right winger, or take bake Zinck tbf
Planning for our league title win next season no doubt. Still it's nice for names to start appearing so early in his tenure. We all know more or less the entire defense is still Championship level, and unless Claudio holds Gino at gun point to change it, it never will and will always be neglected.
We were interested by all accounts this Summer. But Parma saying that want 20m we can file this as not happening. Unless Sarr goes in January.
Well Parma almost certainly won't be getting £20m now they're in Serie B lol, although yes, I don't think we'd get this guy for peanuts!
They bought him for €9.1mil in summer 2020. They might reasonably want to hold out for at least what they paid, which would already be much more than we'd be willing to spend.
@HeiaWatford Not too much of an impact but then again Romania were on the back foot needlessly for much of the game. Ianis Hagi is one we ought to keep an eye on well. Like father like son. And Ranieri has an eye for a player. If he thinks Mihaila is the ticket we should buy him. He has bags of speed, very decent skill set and will only improve. Someone Ranieri probably sees in the mould of a Gronkjaer.
