His brother had been at Mansfield on loan, after not getting a game at Aberdeen. Think we need better and his initial hype was misplaced. The older Longstaff has always looked a better bet.
6 goals and two assists in 18 at Mansfield. Not saying he's the answer but we've shown interest before.
I was going to suggest this one in the suggestion thread the other day. But didn't think he would step down to the Championship. I would be very pleased with this one as he would be an extremely good player in the championship and could be good in The Premier League. I think he will stay at Newcastle though.
He's had issues with his knees so fits the Pozzo model. If they're not previously crocked or currently crocked, we will crock you.
He's played a fair few times the past two-three seasons in their first team. Would be a good acquisition as only 24, but I'm sure we'll face some stiff competition. Doubt he'll be getting as much game time at Newcastle in future with the big spending they will be doing.
If it's only West Brom we have to fend off for his services, I fancy our chances, but if there are more serious promotion chasing sides interested in him than it'll be harder
Steve Bruce could be a factor though. Talked him up massively when at Newcastle and the player seemed to find his best form to date under him too.
I get a former boss can be a pull factor (COUGH COUGH KANE WILSON), but surely if the boss in question is cabbage-head it shouldn't matter as much?
Didn't know we were a hockey team, though maybe packing in this football lark isn't such a bad idea...
Either that or wait to they make nutmegs an Olympic sport. We would win every time - it's about the only thing this current crop could manage without chucking away chances.
Eddie Howe said he's been offered a new contract and he's hoping that he would sign it. Can't see us matching those terms. He might as well see if any other Premier League teams come in for him and if not, extend and if worst comes to the worst and they sign some quality midfielders, go out on loan. Edit: expected to extend until 2026. File this under Not Happening https://twitter.com/NUFC360/status/1529371454571220994?s=20&t=zy2x1HGMwEksBIH-xob5LQ
Two factors. As you said depends on who they recruit midfield wise . Second is whether he Longstaff wants to play regular football because it won't happen there.
He’ll be 6th choice by the time they finish their summer recruitment. We can sit tight and try for a loan deal near the end of the window when it becomes apparent he’s surplus to requirements there.
