That’s quite right but if you venture onto the Norwich forum they think WE are a complete nothing club.

And the club put it out rather than editing it. And then didn’t apologise when Luther clearly stated he found it offensive.

Gray said it - but the club were more than innocent bystanders to it.

We were universally loved when we were flying high with King Marco Silva and all his glamorous acolytes like Richarlison.

Is it any wonder everyone hates a team that was led by an unknown fat whelk and full of stale terds like Cleverley, Hughes, Chalobah?

Now we're back with a fancy manager and a new foreign legion of players we'll be loved again, if we start winning some games if course. No one likes a loser.

Our pathetic fans don't help like.

Strange reply, just shows how out of touch even those closest to the club are . Despite having four centre backs, I think the vast majority of us acknowledged that we needed another PL quality CB and that relying on Cathcart, Kabasele and Troost-Ekong was a recipe for disaster.

Hilarious thread. The best bit is where 'Rookery Mike' has to take over the replies to try to row back and makes it really clear that 'Rookery Jon' wrote the initial tweets, throwing him under the bus. No honour amongst podcasters!

Agree about the first part but I’d argue about the other two. There are plenty of things wrong with Watford - the ugly southern half with the lack of a proper town centre (Swindon and Milton Keynes have those problems to a greater degree) which can probably be attributed to poor town planning in the 1960s (places like Bushey, Rickmansworth, Elstree, Welwyn Garden City, Broxbourne and Hoddesdon show that you can still have attractive non-historic towns), shortage of attractions and no real landmarks. But yes, that kind of thing doesn’t make the media like a high crime rate, poor education or poverty would do. Conversely, there is one great thing about Watford, Cassiobury Park, which I imagine is the envy of many residents of towns that don’t have much more than a village green or playing field.

I have to post the image of that - just in case the links die off. It's a really good idea. I love Gino as the host.

I would we rather stayed under the radar and just continued to go about or business. I really don't care what pundits and journalists think about us. Half of what they say or write is a load of bolloax anyway as they do no research and know little to nothing about how the club is run from the inside. They have about as much knowledge as fans' of other clubs do about us.

Only media personality who gives a damn about us is Emma Saunders and that's mainly due to the fact she works for the club. However, she does also work for the BBC and every time she speaks about us on 5Live or Final Score as reporter she tells it how it is. Our public relations outside of the club is pretty poor I admit however. One thing which I would love to see improve is a better connection between the owners' and the fans'. But, that's pretty much never going to happen under the Pozzo regime.

Even funnier was their claim that ‘centre backs have no sell on value’ - one that the COGs and COGcasters have peddled for ages, completely oblivious to the last 10 years in the transfer market.

And we say Lawrenson and the rest are clueless. We should sort out our own house first.

I am at least glad that not a single dribbler turned up attempting to agree with their moon-man nonsense - and this on a tweet originally posted by one of the WD18 lot!

I listened to some pundit yesterday evening (I can't remember who - they all sound the same to me) segway effortlessly from lambasting Man U for not being ruthless enough to give Solskear the boot into an ill-informed rant about how quickly we get through managers. They're a bunch of *******. I hope we sack the Magic Grandpa before this month's out just to watch Lineker, Owen etc combust. F**k 'em all

Yes, scored after one of those antediluvian long throws we used to cheat with.

I appreciate his effort and he's right, the club should have an identity and cohesion which isn't solely down to the head coach. However, the club doesn't have an identity on the pitch at the moment and the last few years has seen wrong players bought for the wrong coaches. It's an absolute mess if we're honest.

We say it every season but the club need to decide what kind of squad they want and appoint a head coach to fit the squad. That or allow the head coach a say in what players we bring in.

I don’t think the extra 2 or 3 weeks of his contract would have broken the bank.

Sacking a head coach is never part of the plan or philosophy of the club. It just happens because things always take a downturn on the pitch. These head coaches can never seem to keep the good form going. Paying off the contract is the consequence but not the plan. So I’d say financial prudence is a driver.

They got fingers burned with Mazzari, with a long contract and large coaching staff. They went a bit star struck over him. It also backfired as soon as Javi got his long contract extension, almost like a switch, form just totally disappeared before the ink was dry. So short contracts are now the order of the day, to minimise the payout.

Cant stand Squire cartoons. I have yet to see one where the humour is anything beyond the most basic.

Doesnt surprise me that all those sandal wearing Guardian readers find him hilarious though.

I was there at Spurs as well. We dominated them, outplayed them and should have scored more. The next day it was as if we had dropped a bomb on White Hart Lane, criticism everywhere and people piling in to say we were all that is wrong with English football. For some reason, I remember looking at one of these hostile reports and thinking "Was I at the same match?" Then I loooked at some factual information about the game - it was the equivalent of what we would call statistics today but nothing like the detail - Spurs corners 1, Watford corners 13!
I am wondering if I've got this right but hey-ho that's what I remember:)
