Anyone got an assessment of this chap last night? Seen some say he was decent, some say he was crap. Saw he had the most tackles for us, also most passes (assume mostly backwards?) and 90% success rate?

His work rate was decent, but he's not that good to be fair. Back up at best, even in the Championship. Shouldn't be anywhere near a Premier League squad.

Well out of his depth at this level, will probably be ok next season but not in a forward passing/progressive team.

Started well first few games, regressed massively since. Confidence probably as there's a player in there somewhere.

Seemed to give the ball away any time Everton pressed him. Not convinced he’s any good, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he’s just not a 6.

Another totally pointless buy. Would’ve been better to have not spent the money and just had nobody in his place.

Or just spent the £1.5m we spent on him on Etebo’s £2m buy out fee. Seems a more reasonable use of the money even in the short time we’ve seen him.

Didn't even seem to be playing week in / out for Eupen.

Nothing more than a way to move money around, though he did get himself a spectacular 4.5 year contract out of it.

Expect him to head off on a series of loans, winding up with a final season at CSKA Sofia.

Can't really work out what type of player he's supposed to be. Did mop up quite a few loose balls but has a horrible habit of dallying on the ball just in front of the back four and getting it pinched by an attacker. Seemed more attacking from the highlights when he signed so maybe we've just done a classic Watfordy thing and signed him only to play him out of position and he should be further up the pitch.

Not overly impressed so far but given he cost us actual money and isn't in his mid 30s guess he'll be in the squad next season.

What you call his dallying, I call trying to figure out how to contort his body in order to get it on his left foot, whatever the cost.

He’ll need a hip replacement before his contract is up. RSI is going to wreck his joints.

I really think he will be a pleasant surprise this season.

He isn’t an eye-catcher. He’s not an 8 or 9 out of 10 kind of player.

But he’s tidy. Efficient. Does what he’s there to do.

I think he will have a big part to play this season.

Had his moments mopping up, and even played a really nice pass to put Sarr through, and it wasn't his fault that he was overmatched in the midfield with only Tom Cleverley next to him, but my God, he is one-footed isn't he?

Looking OK at DMF, but needs a better partner than Cleverly to help him out. Get well soon Louza!!!

Ideally 2 better partners than Cleverley!

He’s rubbish, bought to help us stay in the PL and he’s not even good enough for the championship. Classic Transfermarket wizardry from Gino.

He should partner Cleverley on the bench

Real inability to open his body up and look the way he isn't facing. Obviously a big problem for a midfielder...

Because he is so one fitted so has to wait and put everything onto his left foot ?

I thought he'd be ok at this level but I was gravely mistaken. His limitations are not of the sort that can be improved with good coaching (not that we have any good coaches).

    Absolute dog droppings.

I think he'd be alright in a midfield 3 where his limitations are less exposed. Being stuck with Cleverley in a 2 with non existent support is gonna make a lot of players look awful.

Looking okay as a defensive midfielder despite him not playing at all as a defensive midfielder?

Said similar after the Sheff Utd game, by far his biggest weakness. If he was more agile I think he'd be much much better, sadly that's not something that he's likely to gain as time goes on.

We have far too many players that would have 10-12 for every attribute in FM.

Think it's unlikely he'll ever thrive at the top level due to his one-footedness, but honestly think he's excelling in the Championship.

Long passing is hit and miss but he's a decent ball winner, and starting to show signs of a Doucoure-like ability to drive forward with the ball.
