    Will never play for us.....

On a serious not these partnerships Abu Dhabi and Red Bull are creating are a real worry. Both vultures have their claws firmly in the South American sphere. RB also own another Brazilian club in the second tier of their football and Abi Dhabi have joined up with Bolivar in Bolivia. It's all about siphoning young talent to these clubs before sending them on their way to Moss Side and whatever franchise RB have invested in. Like Leipzig. Most residents of that city still support Lokomotiv the original German champions not this plastic team.

As of April 2020, Lokomotiv Leipzig were averaging 3000 fans in a 15,000 seater stadium - not sure how long it could be claimed more people support them in Leipzig than their Red Bull branded neighbours!

Not sure why Red Bull get the same ire from you as Abu Dhabi? One of them is a state investing in football which is quite questionable - the other is just a company no?

"The midfielder plays in the role he plays"

Shame, as we often like players to play in positions they don't play.

    Next.

Its the harvesting mechanism they use. They are using the same mechanism and enormous wealth to divert as much talent as possible at the earliest possible opportunity their way. Which will make it ever harder for clubs like ourselves to happen on a young talent and nab them.

Lokomotiv have had to rise from the depths of German football and I mean the depths alongside a merger with a smaller local club Torgau but still set records when they reached the fourth tier again in Germany for attendance. They still have a huge fan base in the city but understandably until they push higher and get a new stadium after their old one was demolished that fanbase won't be attending in person although their virtual attendances during the pandemic have shown what a fan base they have in the city.

If he's any good he'd surely go to RB Salzburg or RB Leipzig.

Surprised no Youtube clips posted yet. Not much to get too excited about from this one though, he seems to have an alright shot, but seems very slow and immobile somehow.

Depends on the price and the needs of the other clubs though, if we bid good money and neither Leipzig or Salzburg need a player in his position then they're much more likely to talk about a deal. The feeder RB teams rely on a lot on moving players on whether it's to their other clubs or for a decent fee as that then frees up another spot for their next talent to come in ready for the cycle to repeat.

That was the Pozzo model, but Red Bull have deeper pockets.

I think the Pozzo model is different HB in that it relies on an extensive scouting network to monitor many clubs and we then buy one or two players a season.

These entities are creating feeder clubs and aim to siphon talent away from the as it were traditional clubs in those nations for their own benefit. It's intensive harvesting compared to what we do. More of a partnership with Odisha for instance than any aim of diverting the best young players in India to Odisha with the aim of taking the best one or two over here.
