He's trash. But he tries harder than most and in a team where that's a stand out attribute rather than the minimum expectation he's the least of our problems.
Some finish for the disallowed goal though, god knows how me managed that given his other exploits in front of goal!
I’m going to say it, I don’t like him as a captain. I mean he’s the most appropriate choice, but that says far more about our shambolic recruitment than anything else. Whenever a decision goes against us he’s there pulling the same gormless expression in the exact same stance. It’s not his fault, I just don’t think he’s captain material but he’s sadly the best we’ve got.
it is difficult to think who else could do the job, unless one of our new recruits could possibly step up to the plate once they have bedded in to the team properly. Having said that I don't know if any of them speak English so if they don't that would be a problem.
He had a pretty poor game on Friday and the email was probably slightly ill judged (if it was his idea rather than Pozzbury's), however I'd still say he has comfortably been our second best player this season. Although maybe that just that just reflects as much on the rest of the uselesss ***** that play for us. The only person capable of moving at the pace a footballer should in our entire team. I suspect Moussa could probably do a better job than Tufat in a bleep test even if he was giving Tufat a firemans lift.
Missed a huge chance today - I’d like to not be too critical as we knew that was his weakness when we got him. But for a player who has played consistently at the high-level he has, it’s just bizarre that he’s so so awful in front of goal. Zero composure whatsoever. Did some decent stuff today but by-and-large he’s been poor for weeks now and really needs to sort it out.
Is there anything more depressing than watching a nice move unfold then realising he’s the one on the end of it.
He should’ve squared it and it was a certain goal. Kings was a bad miss, but at the same time was one that would’ve been quite hard to score with Martinez’s positioning and it being so close. Sometimes you have to give some credit to the keeper, a bit like with foster and ings effort that would’ve been offside.
I think this is one where lots of people will have different opinions - but Dennis was running at full pelt (faster than Sissoko) and the only ball that Sissoko that could’ve played to Dennis was an early one - and that would have brought the Villa defenders who were square on into play. I think Dennis would have been offside if Sissoko had ultimately played him in.
At the time i said he should've squared it. Having watched it again on MOTD Dennis would've been offside.
Also he’d have to thread it through two defenders. Had a pass been intercepted, he’d have been ridiculed for not shooting.
Overall still a good signing for us given our circumstances but he's an older, worse version of Doucoure without the goal threat.
He is the 2022 version of Jurado. Decent midfielder but woeful in front of goal. It makes it more unfortunate that he gets in really decent positions. I remember a game that every chance fell to Jurado and I think we either drew or lost the game with no goals scored. It gets painful especially when you have the jubilation of thinking we have a great opportunity to score than the immediate pain in realising its Sissoko taking aim.
It is strange how some players (well most actually) can't hit the proverbial barn door . But he has other strengths and if he could score 10+ a season from midfield then he probably wouldn't be playing for us anyway.
Doesn't really matter. That's not Sissoko's problem really it's Dennis'. Sissoko has decided to try and beat Martinez at his near post when the cross is the best option all day long! Just goes to underline Sissoko's inability in the penalty area. Has to pass that up. If Dennis is just offside (Sissoko wouldn't have known for sure) then he's at fault.
Really not sure he would have been anything like 'ridiculed', and even if that was the case and he did feel utterly duty-bound, maybe he could have just tried not shooting like absolute shyt? That would have been the real Italian coffee.
The moment Sissoko shoot the ball, Dennis was in an offside position. But Sissoko had no intention of passing the ball to Dennis though. Sent from my TECNO P701 using Tapatalk
My biggest criticism of Sissoko in that situation isn't that he didn't pass. It's that he didn't take a touch to at least set himself for a shot when he had ample time to.
I don’t really recall Jurado missing loads of chances, I don’t recall him really having any. Sissoko regularly gets some of our best chances.
Actually I’ve just checked the replay and as Sissoko shoots Dennis was behind the ball. You can see by the lines on the pitch, so had Sissoko passed, the goal would have stood, if Dennis had put it in the net of course.
The alternative option was to shoot across the goal, which is far more likely to result in a goal than shooting at the near post anyway, and also any save from the keeper could well have been gobbled up by Dennis.
