Djibril Toure made his first start for SV Horn today in a friendly against a team in the same league (he hadn't received his work permit until this week so had been unable to play). He scored a hat-trick on his debut though apparently.
Poor guy is having a torrid time with work permits. Good start for his new team though, obviously the chances of him playing for us are very slim but he looks talented.

Look forward to seeing the highlights packages
@reids doing me a solid again with more of my favourite things in life: goalkeeping stats. From StatsBomb: GSAA% - Goals Saved Above Average Percentage: How the Goalkeeper performed versus expectation. Calculated as: (PSxG - Goals)/Shots Faced Positioning Error - How far from the optimal position for facing a shot the Goalkeeper is (on average). CCAA% tries to answer how active are GKs at gathering claimables - high balls and crosses into the box that could be claimed. GK Aggressive Distance - How active are GKs generally at moving off of their goal line Pass into Danger% - Percentage of Passes made where the recipient was under pressure or otherwise in Danger. Positive Outcome Contribution - How frequently is the player involved in sequences that soon resolve with a Postiive Outcome. A positive outcome is recorded when any of the following events happening within 20 seconds of a goalkeeper's pass: free kicks earned in the attacking half, corner kicks earned, shots attempted, and penalties earned. As I've said before in the Bachmann Thread, Dahlberg needs another Season of starter, 1st team football before I would say he is ready for either Championship or Premier League football. I posted the above before I had access to the current Season's stats and it seems to generally tally in with what I said. He's a very gifted shot stopper and cross claimer, something akin to a younger Ben Foster or Gomes type player. His positioning is worse than I expected honestly but given his age, it is normally one of the aspects of goalkeeping that takes longest to hone in. He takes a fairly balanced position, leaning towards a more cautious mindset but his distribution is not developed enough yet as per his Pass into Danger % and that would be hideously exposed in the PL currently. Those calling for him to be recalled and fight for a place miss the point of him needing game time to make up for the fact he has been, by and large, held back as 2nd / 3rd choice until last Season therefore stunting his development.
Tom Dele B scores again. Who will we flog him to in January? As did his brother last night for Sheffield Wednesday.
On the one hand, we'll lose a quality youngster, on the other, the £1m we'll raise will help stave off extinction
https://twitter.com/FulhamFC/status/1451601746703392774?t=0MYspNpZFtfADieqYBl7JQ&s=19 Quina playing for the U23s today, which is...not a positive sign for him
Fulham fans don't think he will get much of a chance. This is what a couple said on anther forum: Chalobah wasn't on the bench tonight, but came on against QPR for the last 15 mins as sub. He tends to play when we want to defend a bit more. He might get his chance now Reed has been injured tonight. Quina hasn't played much, but he seems to want to do too much by himself and he's young. needs to learn to be a team player and not try and win games by himself.. Chalobah had a class debut for us against Birmingham, but hasn't nailed down his place since. Definitely a good addition to the squad. Quina hasn't shown anything at all apart from look out of place. He hasn't had much time on the pitch, so it's harsh on the guy, but we have too much quality to waste a spot in the XI.
Well the BBC gave Hungbo MOTD but Ross County still lost 3-2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58936267
Hungbo now scored his first goal - sounds like a good one . “Joseph Hungbo with an absolutely incredible freekick from the best part of 30 yards out! It squeezes right inside the top corner to give Adam Legzdins no chance, County have been exceptional in this first half”
The next Ben Wilmot scored for Cheltenham against Dan Phillips' Gillingham (albeit Phillips was missing through injury again, he must be back soon I'd have thought). Dahlberg kept a clean sheet in the cup against Scunthorpe and seemingly had a quiet game (Cukur played 85 mins). Mebude came off the bench of Dons in a cup win vs non-league Guiseley, TDB played 81 mins in an away win against Troy Deeney FC, and Zinckernagel seemed to have a quiet game for in form Forest against out of form Preston, but did put in a free kick which led to a goal. Quina yet again wasn't among the 18 for Fulham (nor was Chalobah FWIW)--previously I didn't think it was in the spirit of the thread to include him seeing as he seemed to have no future here, but at this rate Fulham would be crazy to keep him... A tough test for Hungbo tomorrow against Rangers up in Scotland
My Cheltenham supporting friend sent me this today.. https://www.ctfc.com/news/2021/nove...BJ9Vp9FN-JzxIDUJlDLnk2hVioJ28G0x215gqlgxhq_kw
And this rather lengthy interview.. https://www.ctfc.com/news/2021/nove...tart-life-at-watford-and-football-upbringing/
2 great articles. Sounds like he's got a great attitude and is doing really well. Also a number of good things to say about the set up here.
Absolutely. Has all the hallmarks of a player who will go on to have a big future at another club after we sell him to Reading for £1.2m in two years time.
All joking aside I fully expect Pollock to have a good season or two on loan and never make an appearance for us before being sold. I'm not sure how we convince young players to join us. Even if we do keep him around he'll be stuck behind Cathcart, WTE and Kabasele all on their rolling contracts.
I wonder if he'll be considered ready for us if we go down...probably not even if he's proving a very good L1 CB right now. I do really want him to succeed, he seems a really likeable player and character, so I hope he gets a chance eventually!
Positive words about Dan Phillips in the local Kent rag https://www-kentonline-co-uk.cdn.am...ord-loan-man-back-earlier-than-expect-257420/
Unfortunately the injury was quite a serious one, he's been bright in League 1, but hasn't really had the opportunity to shine in the same way Dahlberg or Pollock have, but yes, if anything, I want him to succeed even more than the rest since he's a youth product
If we get relegated, would be good to have him in the squad. Sounds like he's made quite a lot of progress since his very raw early appearances. There was a clip doing the rounds on Twitter of him pulling off a very nice bit of skill, flicking the ball over his head.
