You can get a rotisserie chicken from Costco for a little over a fiver (which is less expensive than any raw chicken), but that's actually a loss leader for them.

I picked one up the other day from the local supermarket and it was $8 (about 6.5 quid).

Spam, in a sandwich with pickle, with chips and beans or a battered spam fritter school dinner style.

Can't think of one, hence my post. Cooking oil and fat seeping out from the fritter over the plate and in danger of making the accompanying chips soggy....

Definitely crisps. The best flavour? Cheese and onion or Marmite. But not salt and vinegar - devil’s food.

Also, I have very fond memories of living off Findus pancakes as a student. Not sure they even exist anymore?

Disappeared in 2016 apparently, but Birds Eye still do them.

Reminds me of the Funboy Three song We’re having all the fun.

I live in a flat, I like Manchester United.
I live with my girlfriend and my cat, we're really happy.
I like watching television, wearing duffle coats, and moccasins.
Eating crispy pancakes, and having mundane haircuts, that’s me done.

Crispy pancakes and Pot Noodles comprised most of my student diet. Hot Chicken Curry was the flavour of choice for the Pot Noodle.

Baked crisps, salt and vinegar, mmm.

We once had a guy visit from Sweden for some training and at lunch one of the team had a small tube of salt and vinegar pringles. The Swedish guy tried one and had to go and throw up in the toilet, such was his disgust at the taste.

Apart from tourist shops, I've never seen salt and vinegar pringles in any other country I've been to.

When I was little I was very fond of baked beans and sausages in a tin, on toast. Tell me that’s a lunch that doesn’t cover all the major food groups.

Yes, sprinkle a bit of chilli powder or Worcester sauce and it was perfect.

There are few better hangover cures than a 38-bag of Birds Eye Chicken Dippers.

There was a time at WBGS when the canteen was closed (maybe for building the new english block) and we used to get given greasy sausages wrapped in foil from, I think, the school hall.

    Delicious.

Most schools would have been closed down for offering kids their greasy sausages.

Why buy a rotisserie chicken when you can get it in a tin?

Putting asside the notion of a chicken in a can for a second. What on God's green earth was that can opener?
