A bit surprised it's me to be creating this thread as I'm sure yet whether he should go or if there's still a chance he could learn from this and build on it next season.

But if he were to go I just wondered who people thought would be good to replace him?

Tomasson would seem an obvious name. Seemed to be doing quite well with Blackburn. Won the league with Malmo. Unemployed. Could teach his fellow Dane Rajovic something? Other ideas?

Going out on a limb here but pretty certain Xisco Muñoz replaced Ivic.

Edit: this makes no sense now! Thread was posted asking who would replace Ivic...

As a more genuine response, Tomasson did seem to do pretty well on limited resources and was good at bringing young players through. They definitely had a style of play.

But thought he left the Blackburn after falling out with the owners after they didn't back him? Would be out of the frying pan and into the fire... but then he might fancy a Pozzo special pay off so who knows?

True but the circumstances were particularly embarrassing - they promised him a striker in Jan, partly because they hadn't really replaced Brereton Díaz in the summer, then they screwed up the paperwork on deadline day and it fell through.

We should never have sacked Bilic. Wait, maybe he’s still contracted to us and we can have him back?

Probably another who spoke out of turn...

Be a few options potentially but we won't pick the right one or they don't work.

Yes we should’ve. Bilic was a bad fit and massive egomaniac from day one.

No point in replacing VI. We have a bottom 6 squad so are over performing.

Just a few names to chuck into the mixing pot...

    Steve Bruce
    Alan Pardew
    Fat Sam
    Troy Deeney
    QSF 3.0
    Wayne Rooney

God what a depressing list that is. Most of them are way out of our price range and three of them would never consider it even if offered.

Tbf we have appointed people we have heard of since Munoz but they seem to have made no difference!

We could have a bucket of sheep slop in the dugout and still get the same response on the pitch. Players' either aren't good enough or have lost any motivation they had in the early season. I do not think anyone we brought in between now and May will fix what has gone wrong.

    Diego Martinez

Long-standing interest, already has somewhat of a relationship with Pozzo and his stock has fallen a bit (in line with ourselves).

We need a period of stability and Val should be given time to build a team capable of competing in League One. If that means another season treading water in the lower half of the Championship before we're relegated that's fine by me

We clearly regret what happened the last time we went for a Forest Green manager, why not try to right those wrongs?

Just noticed that Carlos Corberan, who is doing well with West Brom, joined them after having "failed" at Olympiacos with them sitting in 5th.

Martinez' last job was him having "failed" at Olympiacos who he left with them placed in 4th.

    Sign him up!

Tom Cleverley getting some support elsewhere.

Presumably because he played for us and is still here .

Nothing to do with management ability ?

Would not be surprised in the slightest if Deeney does come in in some capacity. Same with Paul Ince.

    Suggestion from the WO.

“I Told You Above. "Give Cleverley a go with Mooney to back him up. Fervour and passion is what we need, and these two have it in spades"!”

Let’s get Robbo back then too .

    Or Gibbs, Jackett .

I mean they are at least actually qualified coaches !

I sort of get why someone would pretend to be an ITK journalist, why on earth anyone would pretend to be a tinpot* podcast is beyond me

*From time to time I enjoy listening to it for what it is, two fans chatting passionately about the Championship, but I'm not going to pretend it's full of insight

Cleverley would be my choice. The guy played under one of the greatest managers of the modern era.

A bit of Tim Sherwood masterclass must have rubbed off on him

That and the fact they state in the account description that they're a "PARODY ACCOUNT" while listing their location as being "Kieran Mckenna’s ar5ehole".
