Check workings. Watford sell price was 60.5 before yesterday's result so probably 59.5 now.

I simply can’t wait for next season’s forum where every single thread will end up in repetition of why we’re getting relegated even though we’re sitting in 12th position.

I bet on what I think will happen. I’m tarred with a brush on this forum and of course I am a one dimensional character who only predicts we’ll lose 5-0 every game.

Believe me if the direct of travel continues as I expect, everyone will fall into line as even the most clappy of Gino supporter will realise what’s happening. No one will be expecting 12 place.

I agree. This summer is going to be a lightbulb moment for many of our fans.

The jackboots may even need to be deployed to evict holders of small "Pozzo out" towels in the stadium by early winter. Duxbury will waddle out of VIP area and tell his customers to "Shut up!"

Leicester were bog average, really nothing special at all (they will not stay up without big investment next season), and they effortlessly brushed us aside.

It is depressing and actually quite scary to see how far we've fallen.

We should savour these months of Dennis, because we will not see a player of his quality playing for us again in our lifetimes.

    100% dead ******* serious.

The linesman on the GT side was absolutely appalling. Highlights included not giving us a free kick when Andrews was bundled over not once but twice and then giving Leicester the free kick instead, and flagging for a Leicester throw when the ref had already given it to us. Comically bad performance. The ref was also rubbish, one of the softest penalties you’ll ever see. VAR overturns that.

For a side that’s going to get promoted (and likely winning the title in the process) I thought Leicester were quite average. Counter attacking football will only get you so far and they will have to adapt next season, it won’t work the majority of the time in the Premier League.

I like Porteous but I don’t understand his rashness. Does it all the time and yesterday it meant Leicester scored. Constantly out of position and leaving Hoedt on his own to do the work of two. Baffling.

The gulf in class between Dennis and the rest of the attackers is clear as day. As soon as he came on the game changed- we looked like we had a bit more belief. Poor Rajovic. I actually feel quite sorry for him. Clearly not cut out for this level but that’s not his fault.

On a positive note I met Lloyd Doyley in Walkabout last night. He said Andrews is incredible and we’ll be lucky to keep hold of him. Think he’s right to be fair. What a bloke

Loved Porto's tackle on Daka in the first half, gets the ball and sends him into outer space. Cue Daka nearly rolling off the pitch despite being tackled in the centre of the pitch. Leicester are a good side but didn't need to resort to the dark arts.

His Messi like celebration after scoring the penalty justified Porto’s tackle :D

1-1 draw with by far the best team that has played in the Championship for a while is a good result .

If it wasn’t for the Flying Scotsman we would have been deserved winners .

Well if he can nick the ball then we have a 7 v 5 overload in the attacking third .
So maybe he isn't going rogue .

Absolutely. It's no better than racism quite frankly. Find it bizarre that people are happy to throw around such comments.

They really did not - the ref had to pick up the broom for them.

The problem is he gets caught out far more often than he catches out the opposition.

You are absolutely correct however for anyone to suggest that he is just aimlessly charging forward
is not correct . IMO .

Porteous is on the only defender that plays this hard press into midfield and leaves a massive gap where he should have originally been. Is this an order from VI to play like this? We will never know, but what we do know is that it doesnt work.

I went for the first time in feckin ages on Saturday. Got crazily cheap tickets as the wife is an NHS worker so took two of the kids along.

I cannot stand Pozzo and the inevitable direction the club is heading in, totally agree that we will likely be in big trouble next season. That said...

I really didn't think we were anywhere near as bad as some are making out. Plenty of positives from that performance. I haven't watched the highlights back, but the officials were embarrassingly poor. Looked nothing like a penalty from where I was sat. We were worth a draw imo. The idea that we are in a relegation battle this season is far fetched imo.

    A few of the highlights-

-Kone looks class. He will be worth alot of money one day. Showed some excellent touches in tight situations.

-Hoedt can ping a lovely pass. Shame we didn't have him when we were a prem team.

-Livermore was solid and Chak looks like he's got something about him.

The atmosphere was better than I expected (my expectations were low) and my kids seemed to enjoy the whole day. My 13 year old came away from it referring to Watford as 'us', which never happened before.

Leicester were disgraceful. Managed by a pound shop Guardiola, who clearly encourages his team to waste time at every opportunity. The officiating was pathetic in this regard too.

It's really odd seeing us play out from the back all of the time, but I guess that's just the way football has gone in recent years.

Overall, a much better performance than I expected and based on Saturday, I don't really think we are that bad right now.

It reminded me of early round cup matches v lower league opposition when we were in the premier league. We always looked awful but always had enough to win with ease.

It's depressing back to being plucky Watford

My first game in many years also - since before Covid in fact. Also a first ever visit to the SEJ stand.

Agreed on the atmosphere, I was expecting it to be very poor, it was a lot better than that , still probably pretty tame compared to many. We were very close to the LC fans so that was mainly what we heard. I thought there used to be more flags in the Rookery, and is the 1881 a thing anymore?

As for the game itself, everything has been said really. Second best, they weren’t that great, but probably had another gear if needed. Looked like all our players were trying, that still feels like an achievement in itself. They’re just not that good, unfortunately.

I accept that this is entirely possible. Just pleasantly surprised to take as many positives out of it as I did!

Also going to the Huddersfield game, expectations considerably different for that one!

Another thread and another dominated by a split monologue of "my opinion or mine". Knowing your own opinion no longer matters puts people off posting.

Anyways, we looked like the bang average championship side that we we set up well, were well organized but had no real end product.
The penalty was 50/50 for me, there is the slightest of slight contacts, but the forward is always going to go down and give the ref a decision to make.
How many times did we over hit our crosses? so many flew straight over everyone in the box.
Their 2nd kicked us into life and we huffed and puffed, but i don't think their keeper really had a save to make.
Dennis probably cocked up our best chance in the last 10 when he went for the narrow angle shot, rather than putting it back across the box for Kone.
Martin's isn't doing it for me at the moment. Unless his up against a team that are going to drop off him, he seems to contribute very little.
At best we deserved a draw, just for hard work.

This is a tactic that Val has used all year. Saturday you saw Hoedt get caught out following his man to the edge of their penalty box, fortunately nothing cam of it. Hoedt also did it at the start of the 2nd half, as did Livermore and Porteous.
I'm not sure its a tactic that i see as being beneficial.

I'll start with Raj. I get a player lacking in confidence or not being good enough for the level we're playing at but he is completely static. When they were playing the ball round at the back he doesn't move at all. I'm hopeful that somebody in the summer sees the fact he's got a few goals and takes him off our hands. League 2 at best.
First half I felt we showed them too much respect, in this day and age that probably is a penalty and Chalk (as he's now known) didn't seem to complain that much. We looked so much better when Dennis came on and we pressed much better as a team to the point Winks (cannot believe he once played for England) gifted us a goal. A few half chances after that and probably deserved a draw
The linesman Graham Taylor side was about as bad as could be. Pretty much had to wait for the ref to tell him what to do and when he did take it upon himself to make his own decision got it horribly wrong.
Porteous is clearly told to press higher up the pitch and try to win the ball back in the final third. he does get it wrong sometimes but if he's doing as he's asked not sure what he is supposed to do
Martins needs a break. I appreciate he's only 20 years old but offers very little at the moment. I thought Ince was decent when he came on and still not sure why he gets so little game time.
Good to see Sema starting and Dennis getting a bit longer, if we can get Kayembe back, Andrews at right back and Dennis fit to play a full game we will have a decent end to the season. Not making the play offs but not 16th or below as one particular chap thinks will happen

As with every recent bombshell, there will be a period of anger, before people rationalise it in their heads and hearts. 'We were always a 3rd tier side in the first half of the 20th century, we're just reverting to our natural level.' Or 'we're going down, but the club has a solid plan to get us back up and then challenge for promotion to the Premier League.'

For some fans, nothing will ever be too much. If they're not up in arms by now, after the last 4 years they never will be.
