I've just seen the highlights of Sheff W v Cardiff. How Cardiff didn't win,let alone lose 4-0 is extraordinary! Doesn't help if you miss two penalties and your keeper lets the player head the ball from your hands.
Similar game to Preston v Watford. Freak score line compared to how the game played out. But Weds have now won 6 out of 9 games. They are on the up.
Wow what an epic game on Live TV that was. Man City totally destorying a side in the lower reaches of the Championship. Edge of your seat pick for a live game as per usual. Well done Aldershot for getting a late goal at WBA.
Looked hesitant. Your point stands though - most of the current day players are pansies. Asprilla bottled a header yesterday, Martins bottled a header that would have put us 2-0 up v Stoke, Louza seemingly never goes up for a high ball.
Wouldn't mind one of: Forest Blackpool Manure WBA Bolton Maidstone In round four. All beatable, and able to thrash us all the same I guess.
I yearn for; Stability as a club A squad that puts effort in Youngsters coming through A less entitled fan base. 1 is under question but this is the best season in a long while on that front. 2 is happening before our eyes and is enjoyable 3 happening but not as much as in years gone by 4 absolutely no sign. Give me what I want or I'll boooooooooooooooooooooooo. 'I demand to see the org chart, it's the minimum fans can expect'.
Round four request - the dullest fixture possible as I have tickets for a Bundesliga game that weekend. I'd be gutted if it was Maidstone away. Hopefully Chelsea or City away.
I'd like to draw everyone's attention to the remarkable similarity between Ben White the Caucasian Arsenal player and Ben White the non Caucasian Arsenal player. I wonder if by any chance they are related?
Chesterfield is a side we should be beating convincingly. However, we didn't click. We were up against a side that was way more up for the game than ourselves. This is understandable, as it was a much bigger game for the opposition, and most Watford fans will likely forget that this game happened in no time. I went myself yesterday, but mostly because it was GT day, and I wanted to pay my respects; many of my family and friends I usually meet at the football chose not to attend as they weren't interested in the game. It wasn't only many of the supporters who were not really up for it, but the players as well. We played with no intensity and were very slow on the ball. Chesterfield was good for a National League team, but that is precisely what they are, and we made them look miles better than they probably are and were; every time we pressed with any intensity, they looked like a National League side, but we only did this a few times throughout the game. We were lucky to get away with such a lacklustre and sloppy performance. If we play like that in the league we will get battered. Anyhow, into the next round and hoping for an enjoyable away day and somewhere different to go and see and another ground to tick off the list.
When we have Sema fit we have the benefit of a player on one flank able to put crosses in, then we can have Asprilla on the other flank to cut inside. It would be beneficial if Asprilla could also occasionally mix things up while on the right wing by getting to the byline and passing it across the box with his right, but he seems very very reluctant to use his right foot.
Really annoyed me at times yesterday when Asprilla was on the left that he should've crossed in but hesitated and delayed too long
I forgot something I was going to ask! Hoedt and their pony tail player (played very well 1st half) had an off the ball issue which resulted in their player (not sure if Hoedt did?) getting a yellow card. Haven’t seen the highlights if it was in them? Did anyone see what happened? The Chesterfield player claimed Hoedt through an elbow in his face, with Hoedt playing the no idea what you’re on about card but he did look a little guilty if I’m honest.
Every time we do well is a fluke. Every time we do badly is vindication for a narrative that we are going down. Got it thanks.
It's not his natural game to play on the right and whip crosses in - not sure he'll have even played any games as a LW in his brief career prior to the last few weeks?! I still prefer him on the right side for now.
They both got yellows. I can't remember how the incident went exactly, but there was initially some mutual shirt pulling and Hoedt did throw out an arm, but I think it was more in to the other player's chest.
Just cross the ball. He did it once and we scored, the very next opportunity to cross he cut back again. He can do it, but chooses not to.
It's frustrating, but he doesn't have the instincts of a winger, his natural instinct is to cut inside (and while his cross for Rajovic did work, it was one where Rajovic had to do well to get onto rather than put on a plate for him like against Rotherham). In fairness to both Asprilla and Martins, neither player we had at full-back yesterday are of much help to them going forward, have Andrews on one side and Sema (or even Lewis, though I'm not his biggest fan) on the other at full-back and we have a well-balanced threat down the sides
If you don’t watch the matches, and just go by the result I guess you can come to that conclusion. Read the match reports and watch the games and you’ll be better informed.
Don't think the bulk of his training will be on crossing as he's played most of his football on the other side
