Watching that white plastic bag blowing over the pitch for most of the game made me think Fabrinni had signed for Soton .

A well deserved draw, although it has to be said that Southampton’s passing was better than ours. The ref was too lenient on their willingness to foul to stop attacks developing against them. Each one should have been a yellow card, not just a couple. I’m worried I’m starting to get hopeful. Can they do as well/better against Ipswich?
    Meanwhile can the club:
    1. Switch off ‘Your Song’ when the match starts?
    2. Switch off the time clock when the first half ends?

Just been reading the Southampton forum. The big take is we are sh1t but deserved the draw and our fans are the quietest in the history of football.

this reminds me I think we had a whole match without Porteous doing something insane , in fact I think he was fairly solid

It'll not mean as much to the whippersnappers I'm sure, but for me, Rhys Healey scoring today in 90+6 minutes pretty much sums up why I am still in love with this fcuking club after all these years.

    Good point .
Shrinking violets and "let's 'av it " merchants are no good when attempting to retrieve a situation.
This year's intake appear to understand this. The gaffer should take responsibility for this

Apart from the two that decided to leave early, only to stop on the stairs to watch us attack in the 96th minute and completely block our view of the goal. Knew from the crowd reaction we'd scored but didn't see any of it...:mad::mad:

Whereas you’d have heard a pin drop in the away end. Quietest away fans ever.

There was a moment in the second half when he popped up in the press as the most central player closing down their keeper. If I remember it right it was just from a standard move by us, so that was at least semi-insane.

To tell you the truth Southampton were everything I was expecting them to be. They play nice passes and can keep possession but mostly in front of the opposition. Whilst not always as easy on the eye I felt that our football was more effective. The saints had more possession, but all of the other stats favoured us. Southampton have a fantastic squad for this league but are a typical Russell Martin side and not particularly that challenging to play against considering their squad, Leeds and Leicester looked miles better, in my opinion.

Yes keeper probably should've done better but have to credit Healey for taking it early. Keeper was back pedalling like crazy as he knew he was out of position and it takes a finisher to sense that and try their luck. Also, a huge header from Bayo to knock it down to him, continues to be an excellent impact sub.

Stinking game from Rajovic, poor in general play other than slipping Sema in and couldn't sort his feet out for the presentable chance from Sema's free kick.

Yeah even at St Mary's they don't sing much either. Big ground they have too, should be making an atmosphere but it's like a morgue at times.

Yes, they were one of the quietest set of away fans I have seen at the Vic this season, especially considering the numbers they had. The first time I heard them all game was after their goal. I dont remember St Mary's being particularly atmospheric either to be honest.

Val will probably say they worked on that in training!

Nice to see us win a header and putting pressure on them which Rajovic wasn’t doing .

We were very decent today against one of the better sides in the division . We limited them it only a few chances and had the better chances ourselves , playing some decent football. Thought Sierralta did well to step into Livermore’s shoes and even Porteous had a decent game .
I feel like we are a striker off a first 11 capable of a playoff challenge ( the depth of the squad is a problem though) .

Rajovic appeared to be improving vs Hull, but maybe that was a false dawn as he appears to have gone backwards again . The last minute winner was great and good to see Healey get off the mark. Still somewhat baffled by how little time he gets on the pitch . This is all very encouraging . Maybe Ipswich will be a stiffer test , but bring it on…

Not sure where you/your mate were, but plenty left in the Rookery and SEJ stands. One of the few chants from the Southampton fans was 'we can see you sneaking out'.

Southampton fans are a weird breed anyway. Always have been.

Decent side though. They'll be right up there come the end of the season! Looking forward to seeing Ipswich now. They're flying and are 10 points handier than Southampton.

Another tough game, but I think we can take something out of it.

    Word on Ryan Fraser.

Goes down and reacts as though he’s torn his ACL.

Stands at the side of the pitch and asks the physios “who did it?”

Keeps pointing at Ryan Andrews who just shrugs at him.

Comes back on and the most he can do is try to kick him and ends up pulling him back by the shirt.

******* hilarious failure from such a little man, with such a little attitude.

Didn’t see it myself so no idea if it’s true, but saw someone on Twitter say that when it all starting kicking off in front of the Rookery, whilst most the players surrounded the ref, Porteous (who was great today) picked up the keeper’s water bottle, emptied it and then chucked it miles from the goal

Quite funny *********ry if true. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Apparently this evening Stuart Armstrong was seen walking around Southampton at a leisurely pace and clapping random people in the street.

Also, best wishes to Ryan Fraser after that terrible looking injury. How the physios managed to reattach the foot that quickly I'll never know.

This is from my memory banks and I’ve not double checked, but isn’t this the third time in recent times that we’ve salvaged a point at home to Southampton in injury time?

That 2-2 draw where Doucoure punched the ball into the net, a 1-1 draw in that game where Long scored after 7 seconds and this one.

Well this is a nice surprise. Turned the TV off at the end of “normal” time and got on with my evening feeling mildly disappointed, but not entirely surprised, that we had lost to Southampton and also feeling relieved that I hadn’t travelled to the game with a hangover only to see us lose. Couldn’t be bothered to read any post match reports but then checked out our family chat just before going to bed, only to see my sister referring to our last gasp equaliser. Can’t get my head around all these last minute goals going our way - very un-Watfordy!

With today, the goals against Brum and Rotherham, have we scored so many injury time goals before Christmas in previous seasons?

Probably not, however on the flip side, we have no doubt conceded the same amount or more in previous seasons! :)

Always a good sign to be the team that scores last minute goals and never a good sign to be the opposite.
