Denis by Blondie could easily be adapted for Troy:

    Oh Deeney doo-be-do,
    I'm in love with you,
    Deeney doo-be-do
    I'm in love with you,
    Deeney doo-be-do,
    I'm in love with you
Deeney Deeney, oh with your eyes so blue
Deeney Deeney, I've got a crush on you
Deeney Deeney, I'm so in love with you

    And so on...

Feel free to change any of the words except Deeney and it’ll work

To the chorus of Andy Williams Happy Heart

It’s a happy horn you hear
    Singing loud and singing clear
And it’s because we’re near to you Watford

Amidst the flickering lights in a steaming Dalston basement last week I experienced something which I hadn't experienced for many years.

I wasn't planning moped crime with the mandem, I had no thoughts of instigating an acid attack & peddling hate couldn't have been further from my mind.

Because I was singing or, indeed bellowing lustily, at our Christmas party!

And my particular object of desire that evening was Delilah, as popularised by Tom Jones although first recorded, I see, by PJ Proby.

It positively invites non singers such as myself to become operatic.

As with the most successful terrace chants, the tune moves up & down in small steps, & the chorus is so powerful that you can da-da-DAH it through the verse.

Anything, all well & good but then the proverbial last piece in the jigsaw snapped into place.

    Doucoure or rather duCOURray.

Delilah is unusual in being accented on the second syllable, as with Doucoure.

When AD hammers in his next 25 yarder what more rousing celebration could we greet him with?

To clinch the deal, backing vocals on the Jones version were supplied by WFC's own SEJ.

    Roy, please make it happen!

Saw this earlier today and I thought, Italian disco hit? Sounds perfect for a Watford chant!
    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/23/sports/soccer/champions-league-liverpool.html

    So I tried my hand at a Watford version;

    Five promotions under Taylor,
    his legacy lives on,
all those goals for Barnes and Blissett,
    soundtracked by Elton John.

    After the dark days of B a s s i n i,
    our saviours from Italy,
    Giampaolo and Gino took us,
    to the premier f**ing league.

    Allez Allez Allez.

    That double save by Almunia,
    Forestieri's cross to Hogg,
to the right foot of Troy Deeney,
oh he smashed it home for us.

    Whatever league we play in,
there's no opponents that we fear,
    because we are the Hornets,
    and we come from Hertfordshire.

    Allez Allez Allez.

Yes great chant yesterday, I didn't notice any wiggling though.

When are we going to drop the "we pay your benefits " chanting, it was relevant in the 1980's time to move on.

Presumably it’s ‘Hamer time’ though no one wants a keeper who ‘can’t touch this.’

As opposed to Bachmann, who’s always singing ‘can’t catch this.’

Is Jake Livermore the quickest new signing to get a song in Watford history?
