Sunderland not having to get out of 2nd gear to turn us over. If the opposition players decided not to come on the pitch we would have still managed to concede a couple of goals. We are such a brain dead team. The complete antithesis to the GT teams he constructed in his second spell. No star players just graft, application and a desire to improve.
If Sunderland are awful and 4th with 6 wins from 10 and a GD of 12. Then what the actual **** are we!?
For all the talk of increased fight and bottle this season, and considering we shooed off the 'bad eggs' in the summer, our players were absolutely unlikeable tonight. In roughly a five minute spell, we had: 1. Louza becoming involved in a pointless spat with a Sunderland player and picking up a yellow 2. Bachmann running 30 yards to argue and picking up a yellow for dissent 3. Bayo appealing for handball when it hit the defender's thigh, rather than playing on near the goal with a bouncing ball right next to him. That was just as bad as anything we saw attitude-wise last season, the difference this time round being that we don't have any great talent to bail us out either.
In this division that will get you quite a few points on it's own. These idiots don't seem to realize that in order to score and win and play your style you have to work harder than the opposition. Look at Argentina's midfield. Extremely skilled but extremely hard working. These muppets think it's a training ground stroll. Turn up, a few fancy passes and you'll win. Feel sorry for Asprilla. He showed heart again, played some nice touches but has clowns around him. It would be better for him to leave this horror show. This is all down to Pozzo. Mistake after mistake in recruitment and spending and molly coddling the dressing room, sacking manager after manager. Clueless pillock.
Leadership, character, professionalism, guts, fitness, tactics, purpose, intelligence, pride. And I'm certain there's plenty more aspects lacking. I witnessed the truly disgraceful effort at Leeds but that was a new low and eclipsed a helluva lot from the meek last Prem relegation. Fuming over that. Porteous' foul on Clarke for his yellow and to laugh it off. What a prize a*** he is turning out to be. Lewis' ambling, shambling performance. He thinks he's better than us, sadly for him he isn't. Bachmann failing to clear a cross virtually on the line for the second goal, Captain f-ing Courageous. Andrews just stupid, whereas Ngakia remains a frightened talentless rabbit. Dele-B what instructions is he given as he just runs idly around in circles?
I guess with an actual reset you’d hope to see progress, you’d expect to be inconsistent and have good games and bad games, but with visible evidence things are gradually moving in the right direction, and at at the very least players all putting 100% in every game. Instead we seem to have exactly what we’ve had for the past four seasons or so, a Watford team who cant manage a sequence of 10 games without falling off a cliff, losing form and giving up, with the only way to reverse it seemingly being to sack the manager. Despite the changes you mention, nothing has actually changed, we just have worse players and a worse manager than last season.
Understood, so new head coach, new staff, new methods, new players. Same result, right? So the only viable conclusion is new owners/decision makers if we want a change of fortune?
We really are turning into our rivals.... going in opposite directions... I hate them I always will, but I would rather be in the PL with a team who want to try than sit through what we saw tonight for another 40 games. Three losses in a row, 2 wins in 10, what else is there to say?
It’s getting to the stage where is I genuinely wouldn’t mind liquidation just to put me out of my misery.
I don't look at the league table until 10 games into a new season so I've just seen it for the first time... WHAT THE F**K!!!
It really seems that way, it just seems we’re in one of those downward spirals, the likes of clubs like Sunderland themselves had at one point, where the club is riddled with a complete and utter malaise and a losers mentality. We might accidentally stumble on the right manager who will make a silk purse out of a sows ear, but that is incredibly unlikely.
Defending seems to have gone to pot. Another two goals let in. Even Andrew French says we let them score too easily without putting a tackle in .
Its such a sad state of the affairs that at one point we thought we’d won the lottery and had a genius owner, but he’s now just one of those mad ones like Cellino at Leeds or Wednesday’s current one.
Another shocking performance defence utter garbage ,aswell as the embarrasing powderpuff midfield didn't lay a glove on them ,playing a cb there with a couple of can't be bothered midfielders complete recipe for disaster going to be a long season, but at least the coach has got a new contract mindboggling
He actually said he expects us to finish "closer to the bottom than the top" this season, so can't argue so far
About time these “experts” finally realised what’s going on. This is a good sign. Maybe fans will now mobilise against the owner.
15 minutes ago it was reported the players' had not emerged from the dressing room. You have wonder if VI is throwing the hair dryer at them all. He's doing a Fergie.
