    Since I love my number games:

    7 = G
    4 = D
    9 = I
    8 = H
    1 = A

    Not alot you can make with those.

    "Negative Numbers Could Include..." Now that is interesting. Note the spaces and decimals. A decimal usually means a break in a code. It could also be an I.D number or even a mobile phone number? Most start with 07.

    If it's a phone number maybe the seer/wolf is breaking the 4th wall and we can call them

    7664 is the postcode for Cape Town. It also brings up a load of Lego sets on google.

    I'm inclined to say these codes, most of the time, are just window dressing to throw people off the scent.

    2nd is a very simple message.

    I’m in two minds who I think is the wolf as little to go on.

    I can’t see much choice other than lynching Ashdon. Named bad on Day 1, hopefully we have gotten lucky and that’s the seer

    Do we get time stamps on when messages were received?

    It's been at least 10 games since a seer viewed an evil on day 1, with odds just short of 25% statistically it would have to happen eventually. Likewise if the second is from the wolf, there is a 3/16 chance of naming a fellow evil on day 1 so if the seer goes first and names good it makes no sense to risk naming someone random evil on day 1.

    However it looks like we would have to lynch Ashdon, in case (a) the second message is the seer and we get an evil on Day 1, (b) it's from the wolf and has accidentally named another evil or (c) it eliminates the style of the second message immediately if Ashdon turns out to be good.

    Think this is pretty positive for Team Good either way.

    If the Seer is the first message, then the Wolf has made a weird decision to name a random player evil not knowing who is who - probability of 14/17 hitting a Good but then allows us to know which messages are the Seer from the end of Day 1 which will help Team Good going forwards.

    If the Seer is the second message, we've got an Evil on Day 1 as there is no tinker in this game.

    Either way, can't think of a better start for Team Good other than someone accidentally outing themselves (provided we lynch Ashdon of course).

    Ashdon has been given the poison chalice. Never nice on day 1. But logically, we can't really vote off anyone else.

    We dont have a choice. We have to lynch Ashdon today. As others mentioned we may have been very fortunate and our seer has found evil on day 1. More likely though is it will be a mislynch but we can clear SLB at the very least. The absolute worst case scenario however is if Ashdon is the tinker.

    For what its worth I have a feeling the first message is the seer and second the wolf. The wolf will know that if he/she just says someone is evil on day 1, they'll most likely get that person lynched. So no need to overcomplicate, hence the simple message.

    Regardless Ashdon has been unlucky.

    It's stange because we have the two players who have said nothing all game (be that for whatever reason), who we would of randomly picked. All of a sudden we hear Ashton is Evil? Now I am generally engaged in following Otter's message about ten years since the Seer viewed an evil on the first day. It could be it turns out the message is correct and Ashton is indeed evil, or if you look it at the other way, it could be a message trying to protect the other two players? I am not sure myself. I do not think this is as cut and dry as it looks, and we want to keep as many villagers alive as possible, including the first day. Just my flower power feeling.

    Ahhhh, well there we go. That’s me smoked.

    For once I was hoping to plod through a game without having to exert too much effort. Looks like I won’t have to exert any after today.

    I don’t have the energy to defend myself as I know how day one goes, but I promise you I am good (said every player of werewolf ever).

    Message 2 has to be the alpha trying to get good to lynch good… blah blah blah.

    For what it's worth I believe you but unfortunately there's still benefit in lynching you for the greater good (establishing that the wolf messaged second).

    Came back on here after lunch expecting to find the usual day 1 messages naming two “good” players. Don’t really see any choice but to lynch Ashdon unfortunately - either the Seer has struck lucky and randomly found an evil player on their first viewing, or the Alpha has been very punchy and randomly named a player as evil. If the latter, that is a mighty risky move by the Alpha - risks accidentally naming a fellow evil and, if Ashdon turns out to be good, tells us which message is which straight away.
    The only spanner in the works would be if Ashdon was the tinker - do we know categorically that there isn’t one in this game?

    I think what Skyla is getting at is that it is normal to lynch an inactive player (as it saves the admin from eliminating them) and that the second message is to protect one of those. However where she has it wrong is that only the traitor knows who is evil, Alpha wouldn't yet know who is who, so the point can be discarded.

    Do the random numbers ever mean anything in these games? I mean I could sit here all day trying to work out a method but is it just something all games do?

    It really started a few games ago as a means of the Seer being able to prove which messages they send if it comes to outing themselves. often the wolf will end up mimicking the Seer's style to further confuse the village, but by embedding a code, if it gets to a point where there are just a couple of good left vs 1 wolf, the seer can out themselves and prove their virtue by explaining the code and thus, the reliable messages they sent.
