Awesome to see clips of him on YouTube for Wrexham. I’ve watched Watford at Wrexham, on a cold winter weekday evening. Ronny Rosenthal scored and Mooney was in defence, if my memory serves me well. Around 97, when we finished 2nd in Division 3 I might see what the wheelchair related access is at the Racecourse. Would be a nice Spring event maybe? I’ve got an old school friend who supports them, but he now lives in the midlands. I’ll ask a more local football loving friend to help me, I can still drive, so he/she would get a cheap day/night out.
Don't think I've ever seen two teams (Wrexham and Notts County) dominate their division the way those two have the National League, outside of Celtic and Rangers in the Scottish Prem - both teams on 100 goals and almost 100 points already! And it's a lot more impressive than in the Scots Prem because that league is highly competitive - however unjust it would be it wouldn't surprise me to see one of those two get knocked out of the play-offs by a team 30+ points behind them.
Notts County and Wrexham have both been on fire, shame one of the two needs to go through the playoffs, but this is the way. Plus it’s a little unfair Wrexham have so much money behind them with their Hollywood owners and such, but this is the way. This is the way the ball spins, etc. Personally, it would be awesome if Wrexham get promoted. Just imagine, a league cup match at the Racecourse vs Watford, hopefully, this is the way
Having enjoyed Welcome to Wrexham I decided to watch their match against York on Saturday afternoon and there was a great comedy moment in the second half (up there with some of Rob’s writing for It’s Always Sunny) : The co-commentator on the stream had said Foster was the best keeper he had played with or against, his distribution being his greatest strength. A few minutes later Ben made one of his trademark rash clearances that rebounded off the back of his central defender and thankfully for him, bobbled just past the post. At that moment thousands of Wrexham fans realised their remaining matches this season won’t be a formality after all.
I see Wrexham lost £3 million in their last accounts, despite a four fold increase in income. Even at the lower levels of the game the finances are as crazy as those at the top represented by the money paid out by Chelsea for the Potter episode. Lucky old Ben to get on that gravy train. Plus the owners can help build his media empire!
Yes as long as the owners can bankroll and provide the funding to cover losses it's a very enjoyable journey for the fans. Our club is bankrolled by debt.
Can't stand his vlogs. "Hello you lovely little legends let. Me tell you what I am having for din dins tonight." Honestly, horrific. Won't be long until his team mates get sick of him and his gormless ways.
Don’t worry, by the time Wrexham reach the Champo, they’ll be £200m+ in debt like everyone else. It’s just how football works. Or something.
Oh trust me that will be the case from now on. I was intrigued about his first Wrexham one, but yeah absolutely no way will I go near then now. He seems to have become even more annoying now.
I take a lovely Nottingham lad named Zak,a County fan. Unfortunately today I said " pay the penalty" regarding a bad shot selection. I was profuse in my apologies! He took it well, unlike the County player!
The play-offs are also weighted in favour of the teams finishing 2nd and 3rd in that they only have to win a home semi-final (single match) and then the Final at Wembley.
