Yet another example of footballers over developing their quadriceps at the expense of their hamstrings. Delighted to see CC have Eccles playing. I'm hopeful Bluebottle comes in soon! Especially after a girl named 'Min' will join our first team practice next week!
Araujo again looking a bit baffled by the Championship. I’d love to see him given a decent pass in front of goal to see what his finishing is like.
Okoye was always a risk. Dutch football is far slower than the Championship. Poor on crosses, exceptionally suspect with the ball at his feet. Kalu, we'll probably never find out how old he really is. FFF are alledged to be looking into the falsification of his paperwork. He is not younger than 38 if rumours in France are true. Bayo, tries hard, has scored back in Belguim. Still, he is good enough to lead the line I the Championship. Ngakia, frightened of the ball coming to him and it shows. Summer clearout needed
Has pressed really well and forced a few turnovers as a result. Couple of nice flicks (will need to see the backheel again to see whether he would've been better off shooting) but hasn't really had much of a sniff in front of goal. Hopefully we'll see that now we need a goal.
I bow to your superior knowledge but he seems the wrong type of player for this league, especially in a side with little if no confidence.
Exactly.! Was just going to say the same. We want to play nice one touch football with the oppo watching in awe, but as soon as the oppo show any real grit we never respond but keep playing it slow and hopeful and look a shambles. We just can't play ANY gritty team...
He doesn't seem to have the physicality for the league. Portuguese football is more physical than most give it credit thought (especially the Segunda where he's played most of his mins) so I thought me might be able to handle it, but I guess not. I think if we were more dominant and could create more chances he'd suit us better but it's all combined into one big **** heap. He'll deffo be scoring hat-tricks for Benficas first team in the near future though.
We have been consistently mentally weak for the last two years. Why is that? It doesn't seem to matter who is managing or who is playing, I never feel confident that we will hold onto a lead.
Hamer was very poor bar some claims in the air. Two dangerous parries plus nearly gave away goal rolling to striker
Well done to Ryan Andrews. Coventry with Eccles and Northaw and Cuffley will feel they should have won. Watford yet again show they are a team of fair weather fancy Dans. All flicks and faints and nutmegs but with no real substance or matter. Completely inappropriate make up for this league. I hope JP gets his move to Milan. He deserves better. Sarr,I give up. I assume he's suffering due to Ramadan but what's his excuse for the rest of the season. No idea how that hapless twerp Kamara didn't give away a penalty. 16m ?! Pozzo should be disemboweled for the temerity of attempting that deception. Well done those who travelled.
The usual second half collapse. What does Wilder say to them? Lucky to get a point in the end. Cov probably should have had a penalty. We are just so sh1t.
Strolling with ease at 2-0. The opposition score and they literally ...the bed. Beggars belief that so many senior professionals are incapable of showing any level of grit and determination. Just gifting the ball away, not winning the second balls and running around aimlessly. Too many players with hearts the size of sparrows. Awful from Hamer. Most of the team were poor even Porteous is getting infected. Sole bright spot for me was the debut of Andrews. Did the basics for the most part right. Don't think we'll win another game all season. Just get to the summer and that mass clearout of the terrible players we have accumulated. Couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag.
As soon as it became a typical Championship game we were out of it - because we don’t have the right sort of players for the Championship.
Hamer was hilarious. I’d expect that level of nervousness from a youngster but he had a ton of experience. We are just an incredibly soft football team. It baffles me when opposition start slowly - literally get in our faces and it’s game over. I love Watford FC. And I normally always want what’s best for them. But I was secretly hoping Coventry won it at the death there….purely because this season is over and I think more defeats means the groundswell against the owner gathers.
Like the other managers he probably says the right things. But under any adversity they seem to forget the basics and retreat into themselves. Either they genuinely are cowards mentally or they simply don't have the fight in them when things get tough and they need to display that ability to get stuck in. Probably a bit of both. The need for a team psychologist has never been higher or indeed a decent medical team. Another player gone with a hamstring.
Asprilla was also hilarious when he came on. An undoubted talent but even his shadow was leaving him for dead.
It's almost as if Pozzo were chair of a shires tennis club and not a Harvard graduate! It's hard to fathom how he's managed to make such a pig's ear of things. Apologies to any pigs and their ears that are reading this.
Yep. Was willing Coventry to score. Probably would have if they'd been given their stonewall penalty they should have had.
