I'd rather have Bayo than Davis right now. Bayo at last got foward and did score a couple of goals here and there. Yes he was rubbish but he at least tried. Davis lumbers around so uninterested it's like we start with ten players. No doubt he will be first pick tomorrow on the team sheet.
He only makes an impact when he's overexerting himself. Which also means he gets injured. I'd prefer if he played out of his skin three or four times and was injured in between. He's a complete waste of time otherwise.
It's quite obvious he's not committed to the cause. I think he's counting down the days until he can leave.
That's what I love about modern footballers ,true professionalism! Chelsea melting away into a relegation battle and Mount is piddling about doing ***** dances on Tic Tok or whatever it's called. Despicable.
Couldn't agree more. Football was last genuinely fun about 10 years ago, and it's been on a steady decline ever since. Mount for example has probably made more in his career so far than the likes of Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Nedved etc. made over their whole careers. Insane money handed out to mediocre players has brought the quality of football down so much in my opinion. Davis probably doesn't give a fark. He knows some idiot will give him a whopping great contract in the summer regardless
I doubt Mount probably is that bothered about Chelsea now as he is out of contract soon not wiling to sign a new one I think with Liverpool sniffing around. Bet Davis goes somewhere and does ok - would be typical !
To be fair Davis was a major reason why Forest went up last season, I think a lot of us were looking forward to him playing for us, me included.
I'm not sure he was. 5 goals, 5 bookings and a decent amount of time on the physio table is about all he managed. He came with a load of hype but that is modern day football - some players are popular for some reason and get hugely overhyped but in reality they just aren't very good.
I just don't see what he offers. He's not really good at anything. As others said I was looking forward to seeing him play from all the hype, now I can't wait to see the back of him.
I presume he helped others get into the game like Johnson but when Davis was injured Sam Sturridge came in and got a few goals too .
Doesn't press. Poor finisher. Poor in the air. Average dribbler. Whole lot of meh. Was definitely better on the ball earlier on in the season, wonder what's changed.
Davis is on track to finish his career with about 25 first team goals. That's what we are talking about here. I'd score more than that in 5 years, starting from now as a 45 year old.
Well, I'm just shy of 15 stone and so near impossible for an 11 stone footballer to knock off the ball, so yes.
Yeah but are you prepared to train full time, day in, day out, so you too can be completely unfit to play professional football?
Very much a ‘needs progressive players around him’ type player then? Certainly not a Deeney style ‘drag the team along’ type.
Pretty much, doesn't take many shots (for us or Forest) and the ones he does take aren't great chances (like what Bayo managed to take). Was great at bringing others into play at Forest but we've killed that out his game.
Davis needs to work with somebody. We were screaming out for two up top last weekend and Bilic still couldn't understand why we were as blunt as a used razor. Davis/Pedro, Aruja/Pedro, Davis/Aruja. Try it, we might actually get near the opposition goal for once. Sarr is not a striker he is more useful on the wing (when he bothers). If it dosn't work, then at least Bilic tried something different. 4-4-2, 5-3-2, or even 3-4-1-2.
Every press he does wipes him out for a good ten minutes afterwards. Think a lot of our problems at Burnley were due to him not being able to run after about 40 minutes. We were actually pressing as a unit for once, turning the ball over loads in dangerous positions in the first half. But then Davis couldn't keep it up and they started taking a stranglehold on the game.
Last season at Forest very much looks like a brief purple patch in an otherwise thoroughly underwhelming career rather than a really good player we just can't get the best out of.
Hate this guy, said it three times already probably in this thread. Absolutely cannot stand him, for a weird reason. I've disliked the odd player before but I cannot fathom why this guy pushes every button of mine? It's a toxic combination of heightened expectations, massive disappointment, constant injuries, lack of effort, big time Charlie attitude, lack of basic skills required for his position (strikers score) and body language. But still, outside of his footballing abilities Andre Gray didn't bother me, Keinan looks like he's taking the p*ss out of Watford.
Its the nonsense hype surrounding him. By way people talk about this guy or talked near the start of the season you'd think he was Karim Benzema with his sensational technique and hold up play. In reality he wouldn't look out of place in League 1. He's managed 4 goals in 1800 minutes and contributed literally nothing else of note.
