I am pretty sure Asprilla is injured? A few people were saying this last week. I am not a fan of Bacuna, but Martins is surely is a better chouce?
Asprilla seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth, not in the under 21 squad yesterday either, anyone know what has happened to him? (just seen @SkylaRose saying he could be injured) I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere elsewhere.
That’s arguably the strongest first 11 we’ve put out this season . Don’t think much of the bench though. No one there to come on and change the game .
I actually think he has a pretty high ceiling. Just needs a long contract and a run of games and we will see the best of him. Still young.
Shooting practice (what I saw of it) better today than at Burnley: 9 of 13 on target (only 4 of 16 at Burnley). So wait for someone to miss a sitter.
I’ve officially given up with this season, we’re just an uninspiring side. Don’t really create much, pretty boring to watch, a few players giving less than 100%. Bored and tired of it now. Boro lose, we have a chance to beat someone else above us and we fumble it again, just can’t string any wins together and now we don’t even have the excuse of injuries any more. I give up with the optimism. Another cross that goes all the way across the box because Bachmann let’s it, one of the worst goalies in the league, no joke. Sorry to all those including Nath & co, to whom I called crazy for saying we might not make the play-offs, every chance this weak side won’t make it, we are absolutely slap bang average. Not sure what Bilic is doing anymore either, Davis having a horror show and he waits till the 78th minute to do anything about it. I think I’d change him personally, we don’t seem to create much, we don’t keep many out, none of his subs change anything, so what is he doing? Keinan Davis is one of my personal most disliked footballers in recent memory. Give me 11 Hamza Choudhury’s any day of the week.
Surely Bilic has to go ? Not getting any sort of tune out of the players. Every in-game change he makes weakens the team still further. All his early energy and enthusiasm has evaporated. There’s still time to get into the top 6 but it will take a great run and a change of attitude. Get Munoz back !!
All joking and belittling each other aside, we are just awful. We should all be able to agree on that.
That was a pretty even game overall and a fairly decent away performance. But we lack a decent striker who can finish, and they had a bit more threat from set-pieces. Porteous has been excellent since joining, but that was bloomin 5hite for their goal - Bachmann was about to collect the ball and he rushes across to scuff what should be a simple clearance behind him to put it in the net. Still, can't only blame him as the whole team for whatever reason repeatedly left them with a free man at the back post from set-pieces. We created a fair few chances, but still lack the players to finish them off. This should have been solved in January.
On paper we have a pretty decent squad for this league, the fact that they can't play together or string a few victories together suggests it's the man at the top to blame. I think as this season meanders towards an end we ought to get next season's manager in place sooner rather than later.

4 points from Burnley, Sheffield Utd and whoever it was we beat on Monday. We'd have taken that at the start of this run against the absolutely massive teams. COYH!
That's our most difficult remaining game of the season - I don't think we were that bad overall and if we keep playing like that we still have a good chance for the playoffs. We're getting players now (albeit Choudhury might have done his hamstring again?). If we make the playoffs mind our players will have to up things to actually win them of course, especially in the forward positions.
