Yeah with Ferreira out I would go Cathcart at RB. However I think Slav will start Gaspar for the sheer fact that we only have 3 fit CB’s. It’s a massive risk starting them all tomorrow with our injury record. With the news that Pedro and Clevs are back would think both of them will be on the bench and get 20-30mins each. I think Slav will go: Bachmann Gaspar Porteous Cathcart Morris Choudhury Bacuna Sarr Kone Martins Davis Bench: Hamer Kamara Hoedt Cleverley Asprilla Pedro Araujo What I would rather Slav do: Bachmann Gaspar* Porteous Cathcart Morris Choudhury Kone Sarr Asprilla Martins Araujo Bench: Hamer Kamara Hoedt Clevs Pedro Davis Assombalonga *I would rather Cathcart but it’s a risk with only 3 fit CB’s.
I'm guessing but I would think Hoedt to play before Porteous for experience and because he's left footed. Probably wrong though
Yeah probably. Not having seen anything much of Porteous am hoping he might be a bit more dynamic and a better passer (think Cathcart is ok in this regard but a bit safe) and therefore better suited to covering full back. Otherwise, would could put Gaspar back there and play Porteous in midfield. Will be interesting to see what Bilic decides about Koné having subbed him at half time last match.
My wife and sister along with their parents grew up in Twyford. Spent a lot of time in the Duke pub and has an Indian restaurant called Gaylord!
Cathcart is the only fit CB we have experienced at this level. He starts at CB. The other pieces fit in around him. 2 6s (pick which 2) sit in front of the makeshift back line. Fast players up top to hit them on the counter. With this many new faces being integrated and players in sub-optimal spots, his first order of business is to not lose. Defend and hoof - at least until the players get a bit used to each other.
Our transfer window behaviour/attitude would certainly have lead any right-thinking fan to that logical conclusion!
When I left there were 3 curry houses which all seemed to back onto eachother and I wondered if they shared the same kitchens. Was really bizarre for a small village and I don't think I saw an Indian resident in the 15 years I lived there (house at the top of Amberley Drive where it hits Hilltop Rd) and then Willow Drive (off Amberley Drive).
They live at the bottom of the road at my previous house. My wife knows their son. Heard very good things about their chocolate.
Hearing things about chocolate is very poor research. I could advise you on how to verify your findings.
The perfect set up. Not match fit. Trying to impress new manager and very difficult-to-please fanbase ?
Really hope Sarr gets the captain's armband for this one. Only he can lead this shambolic club back into the light. The darkness will fade! The Biscuitmen will break! Sarrrrrrrrr!
The fans will have a mental breakdown when he is subbed on, then he himself will have a physical breakdown a few minutes later.
Thoughts about his attitude notwithstanding, I don't think that other than in an emergency I want him spending most of his time in the defensive half trying to make tackles and block crosses. Not only would that be a gift to the opposition defence, but it would make him more susceptible to injury. I'd be more inclined to stick him even higher - potentially paired with Davis or Araujo - and lump it up to him. See if we can keep their blokes facing their own goal and not ours.
Not sure I get Cleverly being mentioned with the same importance as Pedro and Louza? Maybe it's because ?Bilic hasn't seen him play yet He was excellent for us in the run in 2 seasons ago, but hasn't looked like he can do close to 90 mins in a while and if Pedro is fit then he plays behind the back three ,which is the only position I'd have Cleverly in.
Suspect Cleverley will be a voice in the dressing room but probably won’t play . Pedro hopefully will return . Who will play alongside Cathcart?
