Our fans are hilarious sometimes. Moan relentlessly about our transfer policy, then we get in a recruitment expert who is reshaping our squad & everyone is still moaning relentlessly. The squad is a mess, we’re not going to solve our issues in one transfer window. For once it seems like we’re building for the future instead of betting the house on short term punts and I for one, am fine with that. I don’t mind not going up this season as long there are signs we’re reshaping the squad with promising players.
I don’t need to be known as ITK like those Twitter/podcast attention seekers that add a y or o to the end of their name. But I predicted, against all forum expects and blokes everyone trusts but genuinely just recycle newsnow obscure articles, that we’d do f**k all new business today. Because we genuinely have less ambition than more than 50% of this league. And lo and behold. I’ve changed my mind. Call me ITK Mikey.
Old video though, with the new player tacked on the end, so not necessarily proof. Only thing you’d say is it suggests the social media team aren’t expecting an imminent departure.
This Everton window is actually hilarious. And I thought our January 2020 was bad. No incomings, and outgoings of £40m. At least we signed Pussetto.
Banter when Gino wheels out Pellistri, Hughes, Whiteman and O'Brien at 22:59pm - and dumps Okoye, Manaj, Hause and Kayembe in the club skip... ...and then put's Bilic in there too at 09:00am tomorrow morning for being a whiny little fool.
This doesn't actually seem to be confirmed yet? Given Forest have signed 3 more players today, barring any late announcements, it seems like Dennis, O'Brien and Toffolo are at real risk of not even getting in their 25-man PL squad.
Overall a good window, and some signs of a positive change of direction. Little underwhelming end though. Bilic won't be happy, and feels a little bit like we may be planning to have an extended period in the Championship, building a young side, rather than go all out for promotion this year. Which may not be the worst thing.
Didn’t Manga almost allude to that in that German magazine interview he did? Said we would sign 2-3 players and that Martins and Kone would need time to settle. Said the top 2 was gone and there was a 5-yr plan to get into the PL and build. What you suggest above, and what we have done this month, plays into that. Just the negative is if it doesn’t happen this season, we will lose Joao Pedro, Sarr, Choudhury(?), Martins(?), Kamara, Davis, Araujo… That’s some rebuild. And probably under a different manager too.
Yes, under a different manager again, which is crazy. If getting promoted straight away is not the be all and end all now, we should have stuck with Edwards, or somebody like him, who would develop in the job and put together a coherent plan and the team to go with it.
Agree. Definitely a more hopeful change of direction. Hopefully another couple of windows of similar strategy will see us in a good place.
The only player i'd be upset about leaving in that group is Pedro. All the others are easily replaced IMO.
