I presume Villa pay a percentage but just about sums up the money wasted in football or how the top clubs have too much that a squad player like him is being paid 50k a week.
Load of click bait. Lot of google searches and guessing. Our highest paid player doesn't even make the top 25 ?
Yeah, it's complete cobblers. Another one of these databases of player salaries that does the rounds but it basically just Football Manager type guesswork.
JP didn't have a relegation clause. He then extended his contract for a further year in September 22. With an Increase in basic salary and performance related bonuses.
But even then Sarr would be on the list. Signed his deal before those clauses came in and he’s hardly just going to accept it being added!
JP signed a 5 year deal in 2020. He extended to 2027 in 2021, (the year the club apparently started adding 50% pay cuts too new contracts), he is hardly going to extend a contract that still has 4 years to run without a pay cut clause to one that adds just 2 years and would half his new wages if the very likely likelihood of relegation occurred. He further extended last September for another year taking him to 2028, again with no relegation clause. He holds all the cards, not Watford. All this was reported around the time of the new contract, I'm 90% it was in one of Andrew French's pieces after he started interviewing club personnel.
Rhian Brewster has been a good signing for Sheff Utd. The really bad thing in that article is how bang average some of those players are yet will now never need to work again when their career finishes. It's players like that and not the Messi's of this world that annoy me
They spent 43 million on him and Ollie McBurnie ! Least the latter has got some goals in the Championship but they still have Billy Sharp as the main striker along with the Senegal lad.
Think he was a terrible signing considering they blew most of their PL transfer budget on him to score goals for them, he subsequently didn’t and they got comprehensively relegated.
At least we got rid of Gray and Rose - who were earning a pretty packet doing sweet F.A all week. Hause is a lost cause, terrible signing due to his injury record but that is what Watford generally do, or did before our scouting improved.
No Championship standard player is "average". Some of them may be average for the Championship, but in the grander scheme of things they most certainly are way above that.
True, but early signs seem promising at least. Summer Window I think will be more telling - more time to get deals over the line and hopefully move players on.
I obviously don't mean compared to me but in the standard they are at. £40k a week for some of those mentioned is lunacy
Three words. Performance related pay. However I expect Pandora's Jar has been well and truly opened and only hope remains.
If I recall correctly (which I may or may not), when Andrew French went on WD18's live alongside Charlie Zazzera (no idea what he has done to find himself in that position, either) the other week, he said that we are paying the entirety of Hause's wages.
Some social media guy for “coaches media “ Must be a Watford fan . https://mobile.twitter.com/CZazzera?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author
