  1. "This is the announcement we never wanted to make, & we do so with a very heavy heart: Wilko Johnson has died. He passed away at home on Monday 21st November. Thank you for respecting the family's privacy at this very sad time. RIP Wilko Johnson."

  2. And incredibly modest.

Great music and a great and funny guy.

  4. Having seen him back in the day with the Feelgoods, and the Solid Senders, and The Blockheads, he was due to ply at The Horns a few years ago and unfortunately it was cancelled because the wife of the bass player (the legendary Norman Watt-Roy*) had died. I was really disappointed.

    * Possibly the most under-rated bass player of all time. I still can't play the bass part to Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick at full tempo after 10 years trying.

He’ll be back in the night…Dr Feelgood were one of the trailblazers that laid the groundwork for punk.

I saw him live several times post-Feelgoods. Great entertainment. A sad day, but so pleasing that he got to enjoy an extra ten years of life that he didn’t expect.

This was a great documentary broadcast several years ago as was the one with Ray Davies. Both incredibly wise and intelligent men.

Julian Temple's earlier documentary on Dr Feelgood, 2009s Oil City Condidential is also excellent and definitely worth a watch.
