Now the celebrations have calmed a little after giving Scum Town a yellow nose on Sunday, Watford travel to Wigan on Saturday afternoon while we all dread our Jekell and Hyde performances do not continue. Having been promoted from League One last season, Wigan have had a alright season so far, although struggling at home they have now got a win but reside in the lower reaches of the division while Rotherham and Sunderland, their fellow promotion clubs currently occupy a lot further up the table.

My memory of our matches against Wigan are rather sketchy but I do remember the Premier League clash at the Vic under Boothroyd where we more or less had to win to keep up our faint surivial hopes at the time, we took the lead but they levelled the score. Our last visit to their place ended in a 2-0 victory with Troy Deeney bagging both goals in 2015, I think the second one was injury time. What we did prove on Sunday is how well we can play when everyone has their mind on the game. Bilic has stressed more than once that our form is very frustrating, and I think we all agree. Win on Saturday we could sneak into the top six, draw and lose and we may well tumble back into the bleakness of lower mid table.

WTE had another "rally the troops" moment before the Luton victory and if that goes anything close to like last time, we should be flying into the auto promotion places in no time. However, we remain without Louza and fingers crossed Davis recovered from his knock on Sunday to start the game. Pedro was unplayable at times and with Cathcart back we hardly looked troubled at the back all game. BUT- we need to play as close to this form as possible throughout the season if we want any chance at promotion. Slipping back into our "Hyde" form is more or less routine this season, but perhaps maybe, just maybe after such a promising win we can finally record back to back wins. I think we'll draw though, but we are more than capable of winning this game, we now need to show it.

    Wigan 1 Watford 1

Just ordered a ticket and there are only 20 left! Our 4th visit to "Lancashire" before the end of October. Just Burnely to go (Valentines Day).

Think Wigan away in 2015 is the only midweek away game I’ve been to in the north.

I went on my own because no one else was mad enough to go with me, but I had to make sure we got the points to keep our promotion run going.

    We did, thanks to Deeney.

The M6 was closed on the way home so I had to take the A5. It was foggy. Got home at 3am.

    But definitely worth it.

Another grim trip up north! When will it ever end?

How does Wigan as an away day compare to other Lancashire/NW trips? Only been to Blackpool (but not as a Watford fan) and Burnley, surprisingly not Preston given the countless times we’ve played them. Blackpool at least has the Pleasure Beach and quite decent fish and chips and Burnley (in the Silva season) wasn’t as bad as I was led to believe despite the bad weather.

I have very fond memories of my last trip to Wigan, despite the loss in the rain. Some of you might have been there at the same time. Springfield Park, 4th April 1998. At half time a senior lady Watford supporter was introduced to the crowd. It was the 92nd and last league club where she had seen the 'Orns play. I thought, "I want to do that too." And so began my quest. I'm at present on 67 current league clubs where I've watched the 'Orns. All the 25 I've yet to visit are in leagues 1 and 2. (I could say that relegation would have a silver lining for me, but I'd much rather we survived financially by being promoted.) Every season I'm hopeful of a favourable away cup draw, and I'm very keen for Wrexham, Yeovil, Scunthorpe and Aldershot to get back in the league, having visited them all. But, on Saturday, at the new Wigan stadium, I shall be thinking of the lady that inspired me all those years ago.

I shall also be hoping that the team perform like they did on Sunday against ***** Town, not how they rolled over for Millwall.

    Wigan 1 - 2 Watford

Always wondered how it works with teams dropping out of league 2 and new ones being promoted. At what point have you completed all the teams?

Are you sure the senior Watford lady wasn't Gladys Protheroe?

I am currently on 74, including three first team friendlies (MK Dons, Oxford United and Stevenage). I peaked at 81, but one or two of those are now several tiers down the pyramid.

    Missing - League One
    Lincoln City
Shrewsbury Town (saw WFC play at Gay Meadow)
    Fleetwood Town
    Accrington Stanley
    Forest Green Rovers
    Burton Albion
    Morecambe

    Missing - League Two
    Mansfield Town
    Salford City
    Barrow
Carlisle United (seen non-WFC league game)
    Sutton United
AFC Wimbledon (saw WFC play at Plough Lane)
    Newport County
    Crawley Town

I think, like Ilkley ‘Orn, you should count clubs rather than grounds. So Shrewsbury would be in for instance. Otherwise you should double up on all the clubs where you’ve been to their old and new grounds.
On the former basis, I’m on 67 - not counting MK Dons, where I’ve only been for the Cup game v Spurs. The only one I’ve been to that you haven’t is Mansfield, where I saw a lovely 3-0 win in the 78/79 promotion season.

There ain’t much showbiz in Wigan but perhaps lots of kids , although they are famous for the Northern Soul All Nighters.

Not sure about making movies of themselves but I guess some 60s kitchen sink drama must have had some chink of light refracted through a lens in a salubrious Wigan 2 up 2 down.

I must confess to calling Jim White and Simon Jordan a few years back as GP!
Her best work I believe was calling David Mellor saying Tony Coton was so underemployed in one game that he was eating his sandwiches!

The new stadium on Plough Lane is on the same site as the old greyhound track rather than the old football stadium, and it's called the Cherry Red Records stadium

Indeed. For my main 'quest' I'm counting clubs that are currently in the league. Clubs I've been to that have gone out the league (like Wrexham) come off my total for now, but will be added back in if they re-enter the league.

I do have a separate list of grounds where I've seen the 'Orns play. On Saturday that will be up to 82 in total.

Counting through various league tables, I'm on 76 clubs that were in the top four divisions at the time. Macclesfield Town took a bit of tracking down. Only 69 of them are still there, though. Like many of you, the places I've never been are all (except Blackburn) below the Championship. Several of them have been at more than one ground, like Spurs, Arsenal, Walsall, Southampton, for example.
