Oh Gino you little chuffer you.....

    Gino_Pocco_Capture.png

We wanted to wave our hankies and we want you to know we are really not happy with you, not happy with squad of players you provided and the way we are sleepwalking to oblivion without you addressing us about it. We want you to know we really really really think you are failing as an owner of our club.

Quite a few of us didn't even turn up on Saturday, some through illness, some through sheer apathy towards the club.

    Oh Gino.......

    download.jpg

Then we go and turn over a good Championship promotion chasing side like Norwich on the telly box........

    FBXU4DZWEAEVR7d.jpg

If we lose against Scum on Wednesday we then have Scummer on Sunday to contend with so there is a hope Saturday is the springboard we all want to see.

Win on Wednesday and it's well set to win three on the spin to really dampen the Gino out crowd (myself included).

Lose on Wednesday and we go back into full meltdown. Crikey it's so frustrating being a Watford fan these days!!!!

    Anyway team news:

Most of our team are unfit. They sacked some bloke that was a performance analyst. He had been there two years. Clearly he was **** awful at his job......
Cathcart hobbled through on Saturday night, what a legend. Asprilla got a nasty knock on the shin so probably will be on the bench with Pedro starting. Davis looked tired after 50 minutes which is a concern with 2 games in 5 days coming up as that means turning back to Bayo. Gasper is fit? I think? But I don't really care as he is bobbins. Louza is class but might be missing due to allegedly spitting at a player - just wait until he sees Luton up close....
Kalu came on for 2 minutes and put a tackle in he learnt from his time as a trainee at Leeds under Don Revie. Dan Gosling also filled in admirably at right back papering over the cracks of poor recruitment in the Summer from butterfly boy Giaretta.

Millwall boss Gary Rowett was linked with the West Brom job leading many fans to hope he was on his way but they then got their first away win of the season yesterday 2-1 at Bristol City. Dangerman for them is Zion Fleming with 4 goals so far. I know nothing about the rest of the squad as they are absolutely tinpot.

    Millwall form:

    Screenshot 2022-10-16 153713.png

    Head to head:

They have only beaten us twice in the league since 2006, both times at the New Den. Overall they have a little bit on us head to head.

    Screenshot 2022-10-16 154756.png

    Tache prediction:

    Millwall 1 Watford 3

Lol short and sweet but to the point as ever Tony. :)

I've never been to the Den (Sorry, "The New Den") but I do know we once whacked them 6-1 in their own front yard which was pretty sweet. Last visit there was almost two years ago when we drew mil nil in a terrible game played on a carpark of a pitch. Has it changed much, don't know, don't care either. Millwall have a very well known rep to have the worst fans' in the UK for trouble makers but as long as your not Leeds you should be alright. I have a friend who supports them and he's a lovely chap. We got back to winning ways last night and it was solid performance overall and a step in the right direction. Can we win two on the bounce? I'd like to think we can, but I just cannot see us quite there yet with consistent performances. A draw here wouldn't be the worst result as they are currently one point behind us in eleventh. Going into the Derby game with 4pts out of the last six will be a confidence boost. I think we are capable of winning and I hope we do, but it's too early for us to get that curse off our backs.

    Millwall 0 Watford 0

Going to this, hopefully we play like we did against Norwich. Be interesting to see if Rowatt gets pinched.

Hadn't heard this Rowett to West Brom chat, but if he did go, surely their fans would hate that, given his notorious style and their notorious opinions of themselves?

Millwall is a great away day/night - especially if combined with a few scoops in Borough Market before and / or after. 2-0 to the Golden boys and we'll go into the only genuine 'must win' game of the season in good shape

Hmmm two of my grandparents were from the East End. I dont like Millwall referred to as scum. They have a hooligan element perhaps the most of any team, but when many teams were like that aside from us. I’m not endorsing their racist fans or rewriting any of their wrongs. But they aren’t Luton. That’s a step too far IMO.

I went to the 6-1 skyla spoke about, sat in the middle of their main stand alone as a callow and unimpressive teen. Kept very very very quiet.

    tough 1-1 draw I reckon

Reckon this (and Luton) defines the season. Post 4 points or 6 and I’d make us likely for top 2 challenge. Conversely lose meekly to Millwall will just reinforce the feeling that the team cannot get up for games consistently.

I went to the old den and saw us lose 5-2. I also went to the new den when we smashed them. On each occasion you leave feeling a little unclean like you've been in a fever dream of chav plastic hooliganism. I think even Millwall thugs know these days being a Stone Island boy is easily trumped by actually having a real job, not needing drugs to get an erection or imitating Danny Dyer.

Such a tinpot bunch of Cockerney melts.

We waved flags at 6 nil down in a Cup final, millwall idiots fought themselves. Mugs.

There was also a game at the old Den when we won 4-0 one Boxing Day in the early 90s. As I remember it was a performance totally out of the blue.

They're not Cockneys. They are south of the river. As someone who was born within the sound of Bow Bells I object to that comment. Mind you, when I lived in Bethnal Green a local told me to go back to where I came from because of my RP accent.

I think Bilic's post-match reaction summed it up.

    "Millwall...." <puff of the cheeks>

We absolutely need to show that we have the minerals to win consecutive games or we will stay exactly where we are. It is the perfect game to prepare for the Sunday atmosphere. Are we up for it? I honestly expected us to crumble after that Sargent goal and we were dogged. Now or never to get your **** together.

Although the ground is in Bermondsey, Millwall itself is of course on the Isle of Dogs - north of the river.

I must admit that I was not very pleased to read that. A lot of opposing supporters look at the other team's website, I don't think I would be too pleased if I went on an opposing team's website and saw Watford being referred to as scum in the heading post.

I went to that 4-0 game. I just remember think why did we have to go to Millwall and give them a good spanking when we've all got to leave the ground together. It's only after I went to another game there did I realise the result is irrelevant, they want to kill you either way!
Things are different now and it's one of the better away games to go to even just to laugh at the locals to the left who spend the entire game giving you the w*****s sign rather than watch the game.
To quote a footballing phrase, tough place to go, but although I've ticked the 0-0 box i actually fancy us to nick a win here

I believe it's the same season as when Solomon started as a centre midfielder at Middlesbrough. As you can imagine he was pretty hopeless in that position too. Good times.

New Den exiting after the game is so much safer than the Old Den. We were escorted by Police through a narrow street or alley while getting pelted from above. A journey on the train home stinking of others peoples piss isn't recommended.

We've been vulnerable from set-pieces all season, Rotherham was a clear example of that and Hanley also had a couple of good chances from them against Norwich.

I wouldn't be surprised if we dominate the game but only come away with a defeat or draw due to them nicking one or two goals from them against the run of play. They really are set-piece specialists.

It's not going to be easy, so I hope the atmosphere on here isn't too over-the-top doom-mongering in case the above happens.
