I'll be honest, I was underwhelmed. Much preferred last years. Not going to spoil the result for those who haven't seen it yet but what a game. Loved the start of the 2nd half, explosive stuff.
I loved it. I loved even more with my eldest son reacting to the music with a 'this isn't real rap music' quote. He thinks all rappers use vocoder thingys. This generation just don't know how great this era was for all kinds of music!
That brings a close to my first season following the sport - loved it! Although the Cardinal's implosion didn't help matters. Have to say, it has been a welcome distraction from Watford this season... Now I need something to tie me over until May!
The fact that the most exciting thing about the Super Bowl is the half time entertainment and the adverts, just about sums up American football. Can you imagine anyone going to the FA cup final and admitting to looking forward to seeing Beyonce or whoever at half time?
I don’t know, I enjoyed my half time beer and subsequent piss far more than I enjoyed our last match in an FA Cup final
I've been following the NFL since 1988 and unless my team are in it, largely give the Superbowl a miss, especially recently. Superbowl is too much about the occasion, celebs, razzle dazzle etc, not the sport. NFL season for me finishes after the conference championships.
Just finished watching the Dark Side of American Football series. Crikey there are some messed up people in America.
So who are we thinking for the winners this year? I'm sticking a fiver on someone pre season. Bills are favourites @ 6/1. Buccaneers @ 7/1. Green Bay look decent @ 12/1. I guess it's down to which QB I'm backing.
Bills have a tough schedule to start with. Rams, Titans, Dolphins, Ravens, Chiefs and Packers in the first seven games. If they get through that in top spot for the AFC they surely won't be stopped this year.
18/1 on my app. Read a couple of articles suggesting they might struggle to make the playoffs this season.
Yeah could be a decent option. I think I'm torn between them and Green Bay. May stick a fiver on each.
https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/analysis/2022-nfl-strength-of-schedule/ Brady gets another top 10 easy schedule.... Chiefs have the toughest according to this.
Lot of people tipping Broncos as an outsider. Same with the Eagles. Unsurprisingly no one is tipping my dumpster fire Commanders
The most exciting thing about the Texans is probably the hot dog with nacho cheese they’ve introduced at NRG stadium.
He’s been getting loads of good press the last couple of weeks. We’ll see. All signs point toward the team being crap again. BOB did a hell of a job plunging an already absolutely mediocre franchise into the doldrums.
As far as first week entertainment goes that was something special. Gutting for the Lions to nearly get a comeback win. Texans showed some promise. Wentz had a total Wentz game. Two interceptions in a row then throws for 80 yards next drive for a 2 play TD. One of my fantasy leagues has Jackson, Duvernay, Dotson, Hill, McLaurin and Kupp and I still lost coz I drafted rubbish RBs! Oh and Jerry Jones has combusted.... I think I'll stay in this thread til Superbowl. It's much nicer here!
I feel there must be a better way to do a long punt. The raiders guy just punted and it went about 40 yards or so but it feels like if he'd really twatted it he could've easily hit 60+ yards and pushed Denver further back. Maybe the lower trajectory to achieve a further distance is at more risk of blocking or something. I'm pretty sure I could've booted it further. A caveat to this is I've also had a Sunday few beers so my belief in my ability to kick an American football quite far might be marginally enhanced.
