Go on then, shall we? https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spi...klasse=&wettbewerb_id=alle&seit=alle&yt0=Show Most interesting options out there are Djibril Sidibe, Davide Santon, Marc Navarro and some Portuguese 36 year old called Joao Pedro
I see Forest have been pushing for both Aurier and Sidibe, any chance we could go for the other? Notice Santon and Navarro haven't played since 20/21, Navarro never found a club after leaving us!
Enock Kwateng mentioned in the transfer suggestions thread would make way too much sense. Can play RWB, RB and RCB.
Has he just been released? I presume if he's been contracted this whole time he's at least in some sort of fitness!
Problem is that he’s probably too defensive to be the attacking wing back we’d be looking for. Good player though. Just not sure he’s got the quality in possession and the final third we’d be looking for.
I need this thread to give me something to cling to for another week or two at least. We can’t be overlooking RWB! There must be a plan…
Looking at his stats vs other full-backs on fbref it seems he does have the quality in possession though: 83rd percentile for progressive passes 74th percentile for pass completion 47th percentile for dribbles completed That's pretty good tbh, especially for Ligue 1 when we're still in the Championship. Whoscored also has 'crossing' down as one of his supposed strengths. It's true that he doesn't seem the most attacking, with his xG assisted of only 17th percentile, but there could be mitigating factors for that. But looking at this goal he scored at the end of last season he clearly has some attacking abilities in his locker: Meanwhile his defenisve stats are excellent. I'm not hugely enthused by him given a few other options we could have had, but he does still seem to be good enough overall to offer us something. He could be a bit too similar to Gaspar in a way I guess in that he prefers to pass than take the ball round his opponent, in part due to it being that he seems quick but not rapid; but at least he'll have more stamina than Gaspar now has.
He’s available, young and decent. But he’s not really a wing back in a five. I’d quite like him as a RCB though. If Rob wants a ‘flying machine’ or whatever Kwateng doesn’t offer that. I think Djibril Sidibe (if he’d come here) would be my first choice.
I used to love watching Arias play when he was at PSV, knew he'd end up at a top club and wasn't surprised when he moved to Atletico. His recent injury record is horrendous though (basically missing the whole last 2 seasons) so would be a risky move.
If we want to sign a CM - two very different but interesting (and I believe) homegrown profiles have just become available: Adel Taraabt and Mehdi Abeid. Taraabt previously been an outstanding player at the level and recreated himself as an 8 at Benfica. Believe he has featured with Louza for Morocco too. Abeid a deeper player but 30 and could be an extra body in the engine room. Was at Nantes so I’m sure Mogi could muscle in if he wants.
Jerome Sinclair is a free agent, and has been for a year. If we signed him Manaj and Bayo would look so much better.
My main memory of Big Marc Navarro was that he was comically slow. Not just slow, but so slow that he actually made me laugh out loud. Wonderful signing.
