If it's true then on a human level you have to feel for the bloke. But on a footballing one I'd have him in the 'no great loss' category I think. Didn’t make any waves at Reading and essentially dropped from their starting XI by the end of last season if I remember rightly.
I think for some think it’s the case of anyone but Cleverley . Bit like on this tweet then are calls for Quina to start .. https://mobile.twitter.com/domingosquina1/status/1557048725104693249 Admittedly on a tweet started by him so people will praise him .
As much as I feel for him, this could be a blessing (for the team and fans!) in disguise. I genuinely suspect we wouldn’t have even looked at bringing a CM in before this (suspected) injury. But I fail to see how we can’t now.
With Clevs, Kayembe, Quina and Gosling we have plenty of options, 4 players, all with proven prem experience . Plus I'm sure Cathcart and Sema could play there if needed.
Never fit. But if he was, I’d take him on a 1yr deal as he’s better than the 2 that started on Monday. And Gosling. (That’s based on it being a scenario where it was Delph or no one - I’d like far better/fitter/younger)
Kabasele could drop in at the CDM role which would free up Clevs to play his creative game in a no 10 role, or free up Kayembe to take up the right wing or right wing back role.
I haven't watched Reading after they sacked Paunovic in late February so in all honesty I don't know how he played since then, but under Paunovic he looked great. Apart from Swift, he was pretty much the only other bright spark in a horrible team. I'm sure he would have been a better option than Cleverley, Kayembe and Gosling.
I didn't watch much of them last season, but it did seem to me that he and the rest of the team were fine until the points deduction, which may say something for the spirit in the camp, but on the other hand...might be quite understandable?
They had a lot of problems, like the transfer ban which led to a very thin squad. Anyways, I personally think TDB is quite talented and would be a better option for our midfield than the dross playing at the moment. He's been decent and Reading and I liked the look of him in the little he has played for us as well. Shame if he is injured again.
Sounds like the job reqiurements for a new superhero...or for someone with diarrhoea and a magnet locking toilet door
We need the yooooooofffffff on the piiiiiitch. Its by playing inexperienced players much worse than our opponents that we'll get promoted this season. Look at our track record over the last 141 years. We've developed two league champions and another FA Cup winner all 3 of whom played for England. A total of 4 England internationals in only 141 years (in contrast chelsea have just 5 England internationals from their academy in their current squad). Plaaaaaayyyyy the yooooffffffff, nooooowwwww!!! They dont have to be good enough, just plaaaayyyyy them!!!!
