A true national treasure, 93 years old and had a fantastic life so nothing much to mourn really. Just seemed like a really nice and talented chap. Anyone around my age (late 40s - early 50s) will have had their childhoods enriched by Bernard.
A wonderful actor who leaves a real legacy behind him. So many great roles, but I thought he was outstanding as Wilf in Dr. Who.
I loved how he read Arabella’s Raven and when I read that to my kids I channelled Cribbo. RIP Nevermore!
Not to forget David Warner who has passed on as well with cancer. Prominent roles in The Omen, Tron and Titanic and a well stocked portfolio in many British TV series. And as the Evil Genius in Time Bandits.
He also played Jack The Ripper in the underrated 'Time After Time' and collaborated with Sam Peckinpah in 'The Ballad of Cable Hogue', 'Straw Dogs' and 'Cross of Iron'.
