I was with you at the beginning and in the middle - but it’s gets seriously wordy at the end.

Yet the very next season without the supposed wealth of other clubs, they still obliterated our previous transfer record and spent £32m on a single player.

As I said, they got dewy-eyed & lost focus. They really thought Sarr would cement us in the top 7 or 8....also because they refused to accept the reality of our defensive frailty.

You're literally agreeing with Since63's points, why do you find it so hard to follow simple posts?

Right you are! I was trying to say that the pressure of trying to deal with the problems they faced without the necessary funds (once the 'Pozzo model' had stopped delivering), was almost bound to lead to ever more desperate measures being taken, a growing proportion of which are pretty distasteful in the opinion of such as Jumbolina.

Nice post, but I think you might have got hold of the wrong end of the stick about the Gunpowder Plot.

Eh? Even with the bit about not wanting him as an owner, the words 'Bassini', 'well' & 'meaning' just do not and should never go together.

He's a >censored due to libel laws< of the highest order and then some.

There was no protest, banner etc, and he certainly wasn’t forced out. But there was a growing view that Curbs was not going to take Charlton any further. I knew 4 season ticket holders, and they wanted “sexy football” rather than the pragmatic style that had kept them up. Also recall this being mentioned on Sky matches at the time.

Yeah no problem with any of that and I appreciate you qualifying the comment and providing context.

I just think the equivalence is woolly at best personally - but I can see why it’s been made. I just don’t think it’s a comment that has loads of points of similarity.

More notably he said “the window is still open, there’s bits going on” when asked if satisfied with his squad.

    It's Giaretta no?

He's lurking to make sure Rob doesn't say anything bad to the press about the state of the squad or our transfer dealings.

I would absolutely love RE to walk.

As I see it we are faced with a crap season and RE taking the blame from most people - 'the owners brought in Gaspar, Manaj and Bayo plus retained Kalu and Karembe, we should have won the league,"

Or the flip side, more exposure to the **** state or our club where nothing has changed despite the pathetic PR machine.

Is this not cutting off your nose to spite your face kind of post. If and it's a big if, RE was to walk out do you honestly think it will make any difference. Nobody outside of Watford gives **** about the state of our club and unless somebody comes in with a decent offer to buy the club the hierarchy won't change. having an successful season will just put us in more strife than we are already

Imagine having a Technical Director who was never anywhere near the training ground.

We’d all be moaning that he was a waste of time, never seen or closely involved.

Ignore him, he's just on a real downer about EVERYTHING connected with the club for the last couple of years. Hopefuly the humourous, smart, cheeky Moog with the wicked sense of humour will be back one day and we won't have to wait until the second most successful owner in our history has sold the club to frankly anybody before he re-finds himself..

I personally hope Edwards purposefully loses our first 10 games, before walking. Then I hope we get relegated. Then I hope the SEJ stand collapses. Then I hope I get splashed by a car on the way to the last game of the season.

Maybe that will finally cause our moronic, supportive, ******** fans to take a stand, and start a protest that I haven't bothered to start myself.

They don’t need to protest to make me happy. Just stop being so weird would be a start.

The vast vast majority of matchday attendees simply turn up, hope to enjoy a game of football, maybe have a little moan at the ref, maybe clap if it's a good result or good effort, pop to the pub, then head home.

    I don't think that's particularly weird.

Talking about the Twitter oddballs . And the 10th defeat in a row power clappers thinking about it. There is no doubt we have more odd fans than other clubs, for whom being a “good supporter” is some kind of life identity. And that allows Pozzo and his henchmen to take the p&ss relentlessly.

Nah. Giaretta and Duxbury are those boring looking ones who are actually quite hard.

FTRE and WD18 are those interchangeable expendibles in orange jumpsuits.

We certainly do have some oddball fans.

I don't think you can blame your average Watford fan for being fairly happy about the last decade though. Especially for those not sad enough (like us) to know the names of Mogi Bayat's extended family.
