While they didn’t have a hand in it the TV series of Fargo ain’t half bad either. Particularly the first series.

The first two I enjoyed the others I just fell out of tbh.

The guy behind it is one of the godfathers of animation it's his magnum opus and it, literally, sent him mad. His work featured heavily in the Star Wars films - even the CGI wnakfest ones and he has one of the coolest credits ever "Millennium Falcon chess scene supervisor".

I'm not surprised it sent him mad! It's unlike any other horror film I've seen.

Oh wow really? The little hologram ones?

Shame, the much maligned series 4 has both one of the best characters ever invented (Jessie Buckley's nurse Oraetta Mayflower) and episode 9 ("East/West") is possible the best 50 mins of television I have ever seen.

Had a bit of a Prime Video old film binge.

The Lost Boys (the best vampire movie ever)
    Happy Gilmore (genius comedy)
    We Were Soldiers (brutal)
The Rock (Nic Cage and Sean Connery, what's not to like)
Hellraiser (scared the **** out of me as a kid, hasn't aged well at all)

Not sure Happy Gilmore is "genius" comedy. But it does have some good bits.

I have a similar habit of watching dodgy London gangster / hooligan movies and a lot of them are very poor , they also all have the same actors in which makes following very complicated

however if anybody shares my guilty pleasure watched smoking guns recently which was very good (alright maybe not very good but better than most)

  13. I've just sat through 160 minutes of Matrix Resurrections.

It's been on the virgin box for a couple of weeks and was saving it for a time when the wife and kid were away and I could give it my full attention.

I feel empty. Words almost fail me. So awful. So much lost potential. It was not good.

  14. I've been catching up on Stranger Things 4 this week. Watched episode 3 today. Doesn't feel that gory so far. Has nightmare on elm Street vibes from my childhood.

Love the whole 3 series and a bit so far though. Just feels so easy watching and all the characters are so well done.

All the worse for drawling you in for the first 10 minutes, I remember thinking ‘okay I see what you’re doing here, little bit of a satire on the original film….’

Then in comes Trinity and then comes the running and shooting. Don’t think I looked up from my phone for most of it. I get the impression that the studio completely lost faith in the idea behind the film and just made something noisy and chaotic instead.

  16. I started to get on board with the AI civil war idea too. Could've been a really interesting angle.

Then it descended in to what it was. And never really became anything. So disappointing.

Wont get much gore, but I felt the final third of the Fourth series made the pay off... otherwise for the first two thirds I was frankly getting a little bored.

I've just watched the best ever film* ever made evurrrrrrrrrrr.

Very good female leads**, lots of well choreographed 'set-pieces', lots of nods to earlier film outings and one of the co-leads had an impressive range of new toys.

Hopefully it will spawn a decent game.

*Containing either Yautja or Hish-Qu-Ten (dependent upon your sadness ratting).
    *In the books they're female.

Really looking forward to this, the twitter reviews seem rather favourable. Tbh it's about time that they did different era Predator films!

    Camp Rock.

Made for Disney Channel cringefest with the Jonas Brothers and gender fluid junkie Demi Lovato.

Absolute ***** but my tween kids loved it.

Brian and Charles. Gently paced comedy about a chap who invents a robot companion out of a washing machine. With the brilliant David Earl (After Life). Recommended

Watched Elvis the other night. I'm still on the fence on whether I liked it or not. There was far too much left out and they included bits that just didn't happen. Portrays the Col as a right **** of which he was but nowhere near enough about Elvis.
My opinion it should of been a mini series so to really get to know the legend that was Elvis.

We went to see Fire of Love last night. It's a documentary film about a French couple who go round the world staring in to volcanos - or they do until one blows up in their faces. That won't spoil it for you - you're told of their demise from the off. Fantastic footage and very enjoyable - even the narrator's slightly irritating voice didn't ruin it. Watch the trailer here

  29. Went to watch Maverick today. Really really good film.

Decent storyline - probably more coherent than the original.

    Perfect amount of nostalgia.

    Perfect amount of action.

    Tom Cruise was excellent.

    Possibly too much cheese.

I even welled up a little in parts.

Brilliant though and great to watch on the big screen.

Blonde - Crikey it's a tough watch as it's full blown mental and physical abuse for the most part.
