https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...irmans-disappointment-actions-foster-hodgson/ Turns out he was fined and asked to stop, but kept doing the videos. I don’t think we can underestimate how unprofessional the atmosphere is and how toothless the board have made themselves to fix it, this will be the tip of the iceberg.
I liked Ben Foster. He's a very good goalkeeper, but this has really annoyed me. Considering the season we had, he was only thinking of his future career and had total disregard for the fans and the relegation battle we were in. The players surely didn't like this. He should have been dropped and made an example of. Let's hope that Rob Edwards can sweep this mess clean with his new broom. One thing is for certain, this would never have happened in Graham Taylor's day.
Think we might need something a bit larger than a broom to clean all the crap from last season out. Industrial Sandblaster might be an idea.
For those who are interested, Foster is apparently having talks with Middlesbrough. Could be a rival keeper next season.
Quite poignant that part of your post. Ben Foster, Rob Elliott and the 1st Team Masseuse. Now all gone.
Not really. A night out that ended with Police being involved and the club not to happy. All three have now departed.
Hold on, what?!? You are saying you have ITK info that Rob Elliott has suddenly been released as punishment for a misdemeanour of some kind?
Tbf, would be almost impossible to get a training ground shot that doesn’t capture at least part of him.
I thought I'd found him on this image but after 10 minutes of careful analysis I realised it's the massive blow up tent they use for indoor training:
What staggers me is not Foster's behaviour. That is bad but given he doesn't come over as the brightest it is hardly staggering. What staggers me ...... actually that is not true as it doesn't stagger me anymore. Let me rephrase. What continues to fuel my deep concern is that the CEO of the club, the person who should be setting and upholding the culture at our football club, did not personally intervene and put an end to it. It's as if he has no responsibility for leadership. Which, frankly, I doubt he really does as he does not make the key talent acquisition decisions either as Andrew French has confirmed. Anyway, back to Foster. Thanks for the good times of which there were many, maybe you left a year or so too late.
Quite - sounds like telling a school kid off once for doing something wrong then he carries on and people just turning a blind eye doing nothing else. Makes me think it was quite late this season and they just couldn't be bothered to deal with him anymore as it was known Foster would leave so this soon wouldn't be the clubs problem.
That or the players are seen as the biggest asset, to be kept happy at all costs. Ivi* and Mazzarri were both given the boot as the club preferred to back the players. I expect someone had a word with Foster in passing at the training ground and that was it.
So much for all his talk of being happy to be a no 2 keeper for Arsenal or Villa at every opportunity he seems to have got.
Elliott wasn't on that pre season video today. Saw the four other keepers there, starting to think this could be right!
Still no sign of Rob Elliott (or that slightly creepy masseur that was mates with Foster) in any of the pre season videos. I reckon Del Payne knows his stuff!
Foster leaving is still the one triumph of the summer. Makes me feel warm inside. That and the Crow nickname of the new bloke.
