We should do better against that odious weasel next season with a manager with more tactical acumen than a plant pot.
Scunny played a raft of youth team players and I know a few Cobblers fans who think the EFL should take action...but all a bit late now.
Terribly unfair and effectively determined the outcome of the whole season for B Rovers/Northampton..
That's one of the nasty little secrets of St Albans Hockey Club. The levels of bullying in the girls u14-u16 (I'm purposely not including the u18s as the victims have left the club and the sport by then) squads. My own daughter was a victim of it - she wouldn't/couldn't follow my advice of "Fark 'em!" so she left the club and pleaded with me not to take it further*. I originally thought it was a Snorbens thing as I'm amazed at how some of the parents talk at to me - and that's before I do the "Akchewally it's Dr Bwood_Horn..." thing**. Talking with one of the u16G mums - it turned out her daughter was not going up to the u18 squad this new season because of the bullying and was leaving the sport. I asked whether the bullying was from a different school clique of girls only to be told they were from the same school as he daughter... *Fast forward and she has entered Prestigous Jockanese University (switched from Medicine to Philosophy & Law) and approached PJU's hockey club at the fresher's fair saying she used to play and really enjoyed it - would she welcomed back? They said turn up to the Wednesday training session. She did and as she walked out on the pitch she saw two of the harridans from SAHC who made her life hell so my daughter turned around and never went back. **So it's the Xmas fun & games match where fancy dress is encouraged. One of the coaches turns up in a 'vintage' kit (pink and green harlequins type squares). I'm assuming it's an Oxbridge college kit and I mention this to one of the other spectators. Only to be told that it's a Cambridge University kit. I point out that I didn't think that it was 'a' University strip (as from experience I know they're very touchy about sports teams using only the light blue colour) it had to be from a college only to be told "Look! My husband went to Cambridge and he wore exactly the same top as that...". I did think about enquiring whether she was some sort of moron he didn't understand the difference between a Cambridge college that was a constituent of the University but I decided to let it pass as it was the season of goodwill.
Who do we want to go up? Forest look like they'll be a force next season if they stay down given how they've played since sacking Hughton, so it would be good to be rid of them, but on the flip side, they might take Zinckernagel with them, and we really could do with footballers who can actually play football...
Some posters won’t like the praise Zinc just got on the comms “leads the press and always top of the the running stats, which often goes under the radar”.
Nerves seem to have got the better of both Huddersfield and Forest in their second legs. If Forest get through I can see both sides playing in the final with more confidence and less inhibition and it should be a cracker (but I thought the same about the recent Bournemouth vs Forest match and I dare say many did likewise regarding us vs Palace in the 2013 play-off final). …And I composed that when it was still 1-1. Forest to win on penalties to finally break their semi final curse?
Not in the play-offs themselves, but it would have to go some to match their epic fail of 2 years ago!
No, it wouldn’t come close to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_Football_League_play-offs#Semi-finals_2 Or indeed this… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Football_League_play-offs#Semi-finals_2
That really was a shocker for Forest. A certain Big Sam was sacked by Blackpool after that Bradford tie .
That Yeovil game and Middlesbrough's run to the UEFA Cup final are my favourite games from a neutral perspective, madness the lot of them
Wow. Michael Oliver turning down a chance to give a soft last minute penalty right at the end of a play-off semi final second leg. What’s the world coming to?
Following the shoot-out on BBC Live - nearly as dramatic as seeing it on TV. Does it normally take that long to take penalties (a whole minute for each)?
With a keeper taking time to get ready like Samba was there will be delays . Well done Forest. Sheff United played well tonight but Samba out foxed them in the shoot out .
Shame one of their fans has made a name for himself in a very appalling way . Will quite rightly be strongly punished when caught.m Head butting Billy Sharp during the pitch invasion . l https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...ed-by-fan-during-forest-blades-pitch-invasion
It's been reported that a fan has been arrested for it. Absolutely disgusting behavior from the bloke, a GBH charge and probable life ban coming.
Really good game of football last night between those two. Both teams going for it, plenty of twists and turns. An excellent watch, and far more interesting that almost anything that happened in the Premier League this season.
ABH in the end. He got 6 months imprisonment (so will serve under 3) and a 10 year ban. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-61505835
I just googled the difference between ABH and GBH and the first thing that came up was “In ABH, the harm may be unintentionally done; in GBH, the damage is intentional in most cases.” How on earth can head-butting someone be unintentional!?
Shame Cloughie was not on hand to police the sidelines. I can just imagine what he'd be saying about these idiots.
That’s not a great explanation really. The difference essentially is found in the level of harm caused. Common assault / battery ranges from no injury to bruising, scratching etc. ABH is usually bigger cuts, probably requiring stitches, minor broken bones and the like. Then GBH involves far more serious injuries, up to wounding.
